8 miles in the snow and mud this morning - can't decide whether to back it up with a nice recovery jog tonight or whether to go to the pub???
Splendid idea!
40 minute tempo run on the tarmac.
Just been for my coldest ever run. Was -24 C on the thermometer outside of my house.
Had thermal everything on and a full face balaclava. Even so I never got remotely warm but I loved it.
I did my usual run by Kinder Downfall last night, but this time at night. A bit of an adventure!
It was very dark, thick mist, pretty strong winds, very cold, frozen underfoot with a light dusting of snow. I had balaclava and windproof overmits on which kept me warm (as it wasn't -25!), and my Silva LX headtorch. Apart from going a fair bit slower than normal, the only real problem was following the route past Kinder Low. I tried to go via the trig point, realised that would be rather tricky, then couldn't find the path on to the Downfall. After I found it again it was then much easier to follow, but still relied a lot on my memory of the route!
6 miler on roads. I think I might be going down with something because my legs were definitely running low on petrol  . Either that or I've been overdoing it a bit.
5 Mile staedy on the canal around Hyde, nice to be back ! :)
Great race at Lyme Park today in the John O Goats. Made a muck of the selection of controls I could miss out (3) found myself coming to the last control and I still needed to get two. So had to head past it and find another extra one - that cost me! Still very enjoyable event.
10x 3 minute sprints
1/2 hr on bike
1m jog to cool down
I need some speed!!!!
13 miles around the Mickledon Straddle with 6 others. Very cold wind blowing up there. Brrrr!
Rest day today as I sprained my ankle in a collision with the bloody dog while running off a munro just south of Torridon yesterday.
Anyway last week had a stunning morning on the Eastern Red Hills on Skye, great run, must give some of the best views of the Cuillin on Skye.

A cheeky hour near Castle Howard to recover from XC champs yesterday. Muddy as swamps in parts so totally knacked at the end. Great weather too.
An enjoyable plod round the Clwydian Hills with a group of nine.
We were just about to start at 10am as Fellrunner passed by, having finished a two hour run.
Not quite a Hathersage Skyline....
Hathersage to Stangae to High Neb to Yorkshire Bridge to Whin Hill to Shatton to Abney to Sir William Hill to Hathersage. Good route plenty of ups and downs approx 20 miles.
Legs too lactic for the Hebden yesterday (after my first jaunt with local running club on thursday). So did an a 17 mile saunter along the edale skyline today;)
Fairfield horseshoe starting at dusk.... Ice rink on the top of fairfield. Bit dicey at times.... Eerie as it got dark looking over to helvellyn. Magic pint of Stella after x

A mere 3.3 miles in a slow 30.48mins almost all on tarmac in wet & windy conditions - only second run since latest calf strain and first since last Friday's 'dreaded lurgy'!!
All the night runs I do, all the off road running and then after an hours worth of hill reps, i go for a warm down run and turn my ankle on a bl@@dy pothole on a road
Sat at home with an iced compression bandage on feeling very p1ssed off:(
:D I went for a run! I went for a run! Whoop!
That's 3 in a week, almost unheard of for the last 3 months :(
6 x 1000 on the track, hate those sessions but they do seem to get you quicker :)
Today i will mostly be running 4 miles to work at 10pm and tomorrow at 6pm i will mostly be plodding home 4 miles to bed knackered:D
Another half hour run tonight - hillier route than yesterday and still going at a relatively easy pace- but getting there!!:)
My nose is the only thing running here for the last few days :(
A wet, lunchtime, 7 mile fartlek round the least scenic bits of York - hard. Then supervised a junior group on a steady 3 miler round some more scenic bits, but it was dark - easy.
6 Mile club run, managed 73oft of climb on the roads
It was slow, I felt knackered and jaded probably the hebden still in my legs.
We set off in relatively warm but windy conditions. We finished in freezing sleet and snow. Before the snow storm we had thnder and sheet lightening it was ace.
I just found out what 5 min/mile pace feels like.

Shame I can't keep it up longer! :(
