First XC race since my school days for me this sunday. I've burgled Noel's shed so i'll be up to my eyeballs with goofy juice, Rob Jebb better bring his a-game.
Blimey Charlie, that was a bit of a lung buster, i've done easier fell races than that. Usual hazards in excess; mud, bogs, relentless heavy rain, more mud, going round in circles...did i mention the mud? Some sharp little climbs put paid to any hopes i might have had at a good finish. Looking back at my school days i used to be an XC specialist......how the mighty fall.....sod it specialisation is for insects- i'm mediocre at everything and loving it. Did anybody notice how muddy it was??
It's that time of year again. Is Scout Scar Sunday 3rd?
Just looked on helm hill.co.uk and scout scar is the first race as usual.

Bit muddy today, didn't seem to be slowing tom addison down much though. I had a good descent down to the cow 'oyl but didn't have the legs to keep pushing back up the final climb and lost the position of 3rd lady. Cheers to the photographers that were out today, nasty conditions for expensive cameras.
The mud seemed to be stickier than ever today - a well organised event as is usual with KWL.
