After that result up at Sunderland it is clearly the day of the underdog, as such United might just have a chance yet. :p
Well played united, especially Rooney. Good game but Arsenal not quite good enough. Still nice to be top of the league though and depression partly nullified by City and Spurs losing as well.
United worked and worked.. thought we shaded it but not much in it, but started brighter. Some cracking balls by Sagna..
Be interesting to her Danberts latest froth filled rant...
So United under Moyes.. who's under pressure.. no sit above City, 1 point behind chelsea, both who spent money.. having played all the big 4 in the first 11 games.. and yet Pelligrini and Mourino aren't under pressure..
tick tock.. what will this be now?
6 managers in 10 years sacked?
Nealry 100 million spent by City in the summer (90 million next spend), 60 million by chelsea (55 million net).. United 30 million.. (20 million net)..
tick tock...
You can't buy heart... history... that is what annoys you so much.
Agree with IainR, come on Danbert, where are your excuses now???
Far from it, but what does get me is, not one team has earned a win against us in the league this year. I don't mind if we play shit and lose to a goal the other team has earned but that isn't what is happening at the moment.
I could take the defeat to Bayern as they were patently the better side. In all our other defeats, we (at the very least) held our own against the opposition.
Carry on as we are and we can forget the league this year which is a shame as on our day we are the best team in the league. Non-the-less if we get top four, win a cup , and have a decent run in the champs league, it wont be too bad for a transitional season.
Derby away at Bournemouth? Monster
Of course.. you have the most expensive squad in the history of the league. You spent 100 million on a team that was second and champions only 1 year ago...
You only don't win because your players dont play to the level they should.
No chance.. your last statement.. top 4 with that investment. a decent run in the CL... come on you have to be looking at a 10 year domination with that squad. This is not transitional.
To be perfectly honerst we overhauled 8 points from you lot in 6 games. So why can't we overhaul a 6 point gap in the 27 games remaining?
We now go into 2 home fixtures where we can start little by little in closing the gap on Arsenal. Setting small targets should be the main priority now. Win the next 2 home games and if Arsenal or any other Title rivals drop points we can capitalise.
We just have to make sure like we did in our title winning season that we are 3 points off or less when we meet Arsenal at the Etihad. Our Goal difference is a big big positive in this years title race just like the year we won it if not more.
I believe no team in this league has the capability to go on a long winning streak other than Us.
I fully trust in Pellegrini and our players, we will get it right, we've been just plain unlucky up untill now, Just wait for us to click.
Tick tock
Apart from your lack of actual experience of doing that... you trust in a manager with a very unproven record.. you've also been believing for 5 years that Man U are finished.. and in that time we've won trophy after trophy..
Also re your ageing barb about manUs squad..
Jones and Smalling, Evans and De Gea were immense yesterday, and they can form our spine for the next 10-15 years. You are reliant on an increasingly decrepant centre half and have no first choice keeper... and your players are unsettled because they know pelligrini will likely be sacked..
Iain as much as you want me to throw all my toys out of the pram I wont and believe there is strong hope for us for the following reasons:
1. There is no run away leader, all teams have dropped points
2. We are only 6 points off the top with 27 games to play, 6 points would have us top actually.
3. The bookies still have us as favourites, for good reason. We are the best equipped team to win the league this year, we have the squad
4. We have the mental experience to get over the line
5. We have already had a bad run of injuries to key personnel. Probability dictates this will not continue and that other teams less equipped than us will suffer the same fate.
Therefore it is not doom and gloom Iain, however, mild concern that we need to address our away form. We are a team that is learning to play a new way and we are well on our way to that goal. Pelligrini will sort it out away from home, we simply cannot keep dominating without scoring, probability dictates this.
Tick tock.
United are hard working, don't create too many chances and score most of their goals from set pieces - i'd say Moyes has instilled his DNA on the team quicker than any of the other new managers but you are finished in terms of winning trophies. Moyes doesn't win trophies.
we've been finished since 2008 according to you...
Its actually quite laughable you consider trophies won with previous clubs as important.. yet put so much faith is pelligrini... this is the man who has managed Villareal, Madrid and Malaga and has yet to win a trophy in Europe... he's not won a title in over decade.. and we aren't counting inter-toto.. its the european equivalent of the FA trophy..
Then you sacked Mancini one of the most successful mangers in European football at the moment.
One nil down already and not playing well.
Will the true England please stand up to be counted.
I know you wont believe me but that was one of our worst performances at home this season.
In all honesty If we can fix our away form we will take the league with ease!
Pellegrini is the man.
City done a lot better since Hart has been dropped.
Pellegrini is our man Roger. He keeps his cool to the media after bad results, doesn't panic or overhaul his ideas, refuses to criticise his players and demonstrates an unwavering belief in his squad and confidence in their chances of winning..
Once we get going away from home, its difficult to see us dropping too many points. We have incredible squad depth.
Good to see the Clarets doing well for you though matey, I've always had a soft spot for Burnley, it goes back to before my time when Bob Lord quite rightly called Man United despicable teddy boys.
I've totally given up on united winning it unless by some miracle, all of our players perform at their very peak for the rest of the season and even then, what on earth Fellaini's peak would mean is anyone's guess.
To be honest, it's a lot easier that way - I even watched the Arsenal match thinking, 'we'll, if we lose then at least it was to Arsenal'.
I honestly just wish we were a better team to watch. By and large it's been fairly awful for 3 seasons now which is an unacceptably long time in my view.
Fair play to the Rags tonight, due to injuries it looks like Moyes has stumbled on the perfect formation for their team. Kagawa is a very good 10 and needs to play in the centre. One of Rooney or RVP needs to be dropped and Nani brought back into the team. If he does this and adds a good passing midfielder in the summer they may stay a force in English football a little longer than I anticipated.:p
Tick tock
That yellow card by YaYa tonight was a stroke of luck
Yeah mate once the form starts stringing together and Joe hart finds his hands it will be all good for you boys and yeah clarets making me proud being at top of table and quite rightly where they belong I'm just a bit nervous for Christmas as they don't like to win games then
