Wheeze we're chugging on :)
indeed we are!
I think I have a couple of 45's left. One is The Model by Kraftwerk. I was lecturing earlier about pop music and the band in particular, and thought I love that record. The most important band of all time? Possibly not but they might be in the top 3
Every time I have to sanction large bank transfers at work, I find myself humming "I - am - the - Op - e -rat - or, with my Card Au - then - ti - ca - tor".
Other staff have begun edge away....
:o
My favourite Kraftwerk track is Neon Lights. Somehow, they can make dumb synthesisers and drum machines actually swing during the extended work out.
Hit HMV for a music update.
Bought:
Pink Floyd, Endless River. It's OK but disappointing sign off.
Embrace, new one. Meh.
Robert Plant, new one. Hasn't really caught my attention yet after a couple of listens.
Status Quo. Aqoustic. Shouldn't work but it does. Brilliant, fun and happy record. Highly recommended
Foo Fighter new one. Fantastic.
Pnau with Elton. OK as non challenging easy listening.
Simple Minds new one. Not listened to it yet.
London Grammar. Wild card. Not listened to it yet.
The Johnny Cash American recordings albums produced by Rick Rubin spring to mind

would we count JC as rock?
i know what noel means. planty is doing ok. wilco johnson is burning bright, but some of the others should know better.
Agreed. Unique.
I think it probably does deserve a 'lights out, cans on, splifftastic' moment. I can see where they are coming from with the project. There are one or two flashes of Saucerful stirred into a mix which is mainly offcuts from The Division Bell. So its derivative but I suppose they were consciously bookending their career as well as playing a tribute to Rick. The problem is, it mostly sounds like a re-mix of DB rejects...because that is what it is.
I know what you mean about Aquostic but I reckon it is great fun. Whats not to like about it?
I shall post my thoughts (and those of the Mutt) after I've had a listen , really like Louder Than Words, must admit to an almost tearful moment when I first heard it on an early morning drive into work the other week, I've only heard the Acoustic Quo on the radio but keep expecting 'em to break into Knees Up Mother Brown :)
On vinyl Daletownrunner! Nice! Really, really should sort my deck out.
On the Kraftwerk, on a vist to Dussledorf a few years ago, I managed to hunt out Kling Klang Studio! Got a pic, there was a nice bicycle outside. I think it was Florians or Ralfs! :)
Vinyl its the future :D got a pristine copy of The Wall and a slightly less pristine copy of DSOTM for less than 20 quid at the weekend, having a great record shop close at hand is brilliant, the only downside being that I tend to buy better and better copies of the same thing, 3 copies of NY Harvest, 2 copies PF Wish You Were Here etc..etc...
I've got a massive stack I bought. Not played yet, going back about 5 or 6 years, possibly more! I've really got to have a listen to those before I buy new. Its a bit annoying with all the fresh presses about!
Also wanted to get Royal Blood but the bill was getting high!
Not very QAH. Neighbour having new windows fitted
Terri Hatcher pulls out of "I am a celeb..." :(
She has far too much class for that show so probably a good decision though the 100K they are reported to get (she was probably offered more I bet) might have seemed attractive to her at the time.
Just me and a couple of others as I make it one year closer to the next age category!
