Last year was thick fog, this year looks like high winds and heavy rain are likely...recce definitely a good idea!
There will be some refreshments as usual at the Old Barn, next to CP4, and this year this will include some energy drink, kindly provided by SiS, but consider this an extra, not your main supply of food and drink - bring your own too! Soup and hot drink at the finish.
Sportsunday are also coming along to take pictures...don't forget to smile through the pain!
Apologies, hadn't looked at the half trog page.
The plan is;
The start loop (for the full only) is not worth recceing imho. As others have said it's all a bit frantic and packed together so you can't get lost anyway. If anyone wants to walk across to the start for the full, just to see where it is then we could do that but it's only about 100 yards from the cricket club anyway.
I'm going to kick off at the half trog start, that's where the start loop for the full comes out, so it'll do for both distances. We can then follow the half trog route as both distances have a common route to and from Cock Hill (cp3,11) and a common finish.
Don't worry if this doesn't make sense, it will on sunday. The recce will be useful for either distance and i'll make sure people know where the differences are.
See you then!
We are hoping to have the final entries list on Calder Valley's website over the weekend. Just need to wait for the post tomorrow as that is the extended closing date. Hope the weather is an improvement on the gale force winds and rain forecast this weekend.

Attached is the Trog Entry list.
If any runners that are marked in red can
please email me their tel numbers. I had deleted this off by mistake when
altering the last years form and only noticed it when a few of the entries
arrived. [email protected]. Thanks.
Can you please car share where possible as we are always tight for Parking.
Thanks. Much appreciated. Thirza
Thanks for leading the recce today Andy. Anti-social was nice to meet you also.
Petty tough going underfoot - with more rain on the way I can see it being a tough day out next weekend.
Wish I'd read this thread sooner as I ran out on my own and it was a Sapper. The bogs are boggy the moor is boggy the stones are sloppy on the packhorse and my bearings needed fine tuning. Maybe I passed u guys as u returned to cock hill? Took me 4 hrs mainly due to wind and pausing for map n compass but stunning scenery eg lumb hole.
First time doing this, i appreciate theres water at CP, but is there other drinkable water, springs etc?
