First fox for a good few months earlier this evening as running up Whitecote Lane from bottom of valley up to Leeds-Bradford Road, Bramley.
Swallows are back,
Ring Ouzel too,
Bluebells are out,
Swifts on the way soon....
To many more to mention..
Lovely to feel Spring has sprung too..
Short eared owl (I think - judging by the size) chasing a crow away over Knotbury (near Flash).
Missus is working down Shepperton and has Tonkins with her. Tonkins is our 100 year old tortoise, and on election day Tonkins laid an egg (not a good idea if you are 100 yr old ). So on Friday Keith (old friend) took the egg to a charity clay pigeon shoot he had organised, in aid of the World Pheasant Association (he's an ex chairman). The egg was auctioned as a "New Begining" after the election, and it fetched £100 :D. It isn't fertile, but just a symbol of hope for the future.
The money is for Galliform (game birds) conservation projects around the world, such as this in the Himalayas

and that lovely Satyr Tragopan in the picture is a bird I used to care for. Hence my comments in a previous post about Reeves and Argus pheasants and stuff - they are all old friends.
Multiple Pheasants, a Kestrel and a hare over Holmfirth way. Oh, and some highland cattle and plenty of lambs.
Lapwing with chicks next to the Redmires Conduit
Pair of Peregrines yesterday and three ring Ring Ouzel today :)
A skylark when I was out walking (still not running again yet :( ) this morning on the hills near where I live. I thought the wind farm and motor bikes had frightened them all off but not this one just hope it finds a mate !
Where I run there is a spot in a field where there are small holes obviously dug out. In most of the holes is poo. What would it be? We have lots of badgers and foxes
