is brett filing his nails:eek:
Just back home after a fantastic weekend. Great to meet so many fellow forumites, and well done to all. Special thanks to Hotdog, who was a real hero, giving valuable guidance to Sunnysideup and me, and keeping his injured clubmate Jo company as she made her back to Rosthwaite. Cheers.
A big thanks to Scoffer and the crew - I didn't mind the shorter course one bit ;) If the 40 -45 minutes time difference is to be believed then it was an effective PB by 40 minutes :D Could be difficult to beat on the full course!
The shots of me - 1857 & 2286 actually make it look as if I am running  though they do nothing for my figure.
In that case he was put in a difficult position, glad he missed out Scafell rather than cancel.
Haven't run Edale Skyline Daz but in Bens article in the Fellrunner it didn't sound as easy as that, but if MR have approached scoffer he has to do something (winds were very strong the night before)Quote:
i cannot see any relevance to edale, at edale you just turn right and drop back down , thats not really the case at borrowdale. anyway if people didnt like it im sure scoffer would have just said tough shit, he said he had taken advice from MR and as far as im concerned we can all go back next year and do it again if we wish.
Missed all that as had to get home :( will be there next year though.Quote:
then didnt stop dancing with all the forumites in the markee, last thing i remember was jumping around in a ring with emmi, rob jebb, luv shack and god knows who else , absolutley great .
it doesnt get better than that , wild or what
Hobbits can fly just glad there was no pictures near the finish, got shouted at to start running again :o

It really is a shame that the route had to be changed – at first I thought that Scoffer had done it just so that his committee pals could get round in under four and a half hours! Almost worked too – though I notice Breezie bottled out altogether.
Interestingly, the theoretical forty minutes advantage created by the removal of Scafell Pike managed to achieve less than 15 minutes improvement on Billy’s record. That says something!
Seriously, I can’t really see how Scoffer could have chosen to ignore the advice of the rescue team – I know he got a lot of stick (much from his own club!), but what could he really do, under the circumstances?
I hope that all this was discussed with the rescue team after the race. Last Friday’s Mountain Weather Information Service weather forecast for the Lake District accurately predicted what the weather would do – including the abatement of the wind on Saturday. I’m sure that even mountain rescue teams from Preston are capable of reading a weather forecast.
There have been comparisons made with the decisions at the Edale Skyline, including some silly statements about the difference in terrain making the decision easier. All I can say is that most deaths in the Dark Peak have occurred because people haven’t given the high plateaux of Kinder and Bleaklow the respect they rightly deserve.
Be careful – it’s not a jungle out there!
