Sorry to say Iain but Danbert does have a point.
What you quote is history just like liverpool, Leeds, Blackburn, Forrest etc etc etc.
It will be good for your lot to visit the Shay again.

Why? We've lost the greatest manager of all time.. Ok things are great but we'll give Moyes time. I think we'll do OK.. 4th will do this year. I won't judge Moyes until it is his team.
Fergie was always in for a kicking this year by the Danberts... if Moyes did well.. it showed how Average fergie was.. if Moyes did badly he chose wrong...
The fact is we have 20 league titles.. 12 of which (I think).. or was it 13? came under Fergie..
I met a scouser last year who reckoned the worst thing ever to happen to Man U was Fergie.. that he saddled them with debt after his row with the horse owners... its laughable..
Correct Iain, this is a very good post.
There will be no knee-jerk overreactions of panic, petulant shrieks of 'sack him!', spoilt demands for instant-success from me.
I expected the ABU nation and the likes of Danbert on here to latch on with glee at any opportunity to prematurely stick the boot in at the earliest sign of problems, but our own support know better.
We've spent the last couple of decades (rightfully) scoffing and sneering at other clubs' distasteful penchant for sacking their managers at the first hurdle, and the last few years (rightfully) mocking the overnight lottery 'successes' of the plastic clubs. So at the first sign of trouble, we must not turn into everything that we've historically stood against.
Nobody expected a seamless transition, and I accept that things have gone even worse than we'd originally envisaged, but we are United, we will not react to it by turning into whiney little spoilt brats. There's work to be done, and with a bit of time and support we may reap some serious benefits, just like we did with Ferguson.
Moyes is learning the ropes at this level; all this talk of tactics and playing styles at Everton is meaningless, as he will have to adapt himself to the requirements of Manchester United, and that will naturally come with some teething problems. However, if he adapts successfully, which will take time, then it will all be worth it. He may well crash and burn, but I'd rather give him a fair shot. Let's see what he does in January, and see where we end up in May - then we can make a fair judgement call.
What tickles me is this constant reference to this mystifying 'Transitional period.'
What you really mean is, the new manager of the same team that coasted the league last season, is losing games hand over fist and is really a bit shit.
Cue more 'Gelling time' and 'Bedding in' quotes in a frantic attempt to calm twitching arses.
Martinez is going through a similar 'Transitional period.' It doesn't seem to be affecting him too much
Man Utd should have hung onto Pogba. He's just the player they need in midfield right now.
I agree.. but he was turned by his agent.. Ravel as well.. but he was a bad egg and sometimes you just have to get rid.. class player who they protected and kept out of prison but you cant risk his influence.
I tink in Janusaj we have a class player.
Danbert.. yeah Martinez has done well... similar to how Moyes did.. yet you reckon he's terrible..
We have class... we dont sack after 15 games... we're not a City who expect to win the league season in season out and sack the manager for merely finishing second.. a disgusting club.
Still only 8 points between Utd and 2nd place in the table. Only Arsenal are really getting comfortably clear of them.
Not having a go at you Alf, just please to see some different teams at the top.
Got a bit boring like F1.
Be good to see utd out of europe for a change.
PS Yorkshire puddings with liver and veg for tea.;)
Should be a full ground for the short trip from Leeds for the away supporters. Good result yesterday beating Rotherham away. Any 3rd Round memories out there anyone ?
Mine is 1996 when we got well shafted 7-0 by Liverpool at Anfield.
My abiding memories were the local Liverpool kids offering to "protect my car" while I was at the match for a small remuneration
Stan Collymore kicking a football - he had a hell of a kick!
Ian Rush breaking Denis Law's record of FA Cup goals.
The Kop singing "Always look on the bright side of life" when we were 7-0 down :D

Great performance by Everton and that final Arsenal shot by Giroud against the bar which would have been a cracker if it had gone in would not have been a fair result. The only way you can beat Everton is through football skill and there aren't many teams in that league at the moment that can do that
Oh dear Alf, you may have a full house but they have more dick heads than Morecambe.
I do hope its a good game.
Showing my age, my first 3rd round memory is a bit earlier than that. In 1963 Morecambe then in the old Lancashire Combination got through to the 3rd round, great excitement when the draw camer round only to draw Weymouth at home and lose 1-0. It was another 38 years before we got to the 3rd round again and drew Ipswich, then 3rd in the Premier League, at home and went down 3-0.
Other memories from my days following Liverpool was 1974 back in the Shankly era when they drew Doncaster, then bottom of the old 4th Division at Anfield and were held 2-2 with Doncaster hitting the bar in the last minute. It was the days of the power cuts in the early Seventies so it was a midweek afternoon trip to Doncaster for the replay to see a 2-0 Liverpool win then a drive back in my old Austin A40 over the Pennines in a blizzard
In other news, as Blackburn fan, I think it's about time Burnley stepped down from the top of the Championship.
Well spotted mate but the Liverpool days were in parallel with the Morecambe days, as with most non league fans I supported a league club as well. Supported Morecambe since 1960 and Liverpool since the mid sixties so I'm hardly a glory hunter
PS how was the tea last night, if you can eat that shite you want to get on I'm A Celebrity, you would piss it;)
i was born 5 minutes from Anfield and used to mind cars.We had regulars and some of the kids use to wash the cars it was a nice little earner for us kids. I have been a season ticket holder for 30 years. I been enjoying this thread so keep it up Danbert and Iain. Moyes will be Lucky to last the year already losing the players Rio not happy RVP ? Felleni a panic buy who more interested in playing with his phone than watching the game. There will be more panic buys in the new year if they can attract top top top players. 8 points off second place how many off the bottom! Won't finish in the top 4 and will struggle to get in the Europa league.
Does anyone else think that United and Salford Harriers are the mirror image of each other. Both are Manc based, red & white, both tried to sign everyone in sight in the pursuit of success, everyone hates them and now it's going tits up big style
