Good photos guys!
Great day for it wasn't it!
Well done everyone great running, might have a few pics will have to see how they turned out!
Fab day out and good to see lots of familiar faces and meet some forumites. Don't know about anyone else but I found that boggy section really tough going!! Got a leg stuck and almost couldn't be bothered to get myself out :D I was 16 mins slower than in September but the going seemed tougher and I'm not as fit so I'm pretty happy. What a great race it is. Thanks to all the organisers and marshals and the cheese and onion pasty was lovely.
Many thanks to all the organisational Dark Peak team for putting on another great Skyline race. Please, please keep it up.
Post race food of pie, mushy peas and gravy was inspired!
Ian (darkpeak) where do I get more of the Rescue Ale - my sort of post race rehydration juice! and always very happy to help a very worthy cause.
Yeah thanks to all organisers, marshalls and supporters on route.Fantastic race. Think we had all weather types in one race and that descent of Win Hill is mental!
I think I underestimated how tough this race is, absolutely bolloxed at the end. That long run across the moors and bogs after Mam Nick finished me off totally, just managed to hang on in there. Great race though, good scran as well, big cheers to all marshals and helpers.
Blogged :)
LOST AND FOUND
I haven't got all the lost kit but send me pm for missing kit with description.
Vest, shorts, thermal and fleece
bumbag.....make and contents
also reported lost Garmin gps map viewer by a spectator any one see it?
Haha, on movescount (the Suunto app) the ascent came out as 4,900 feet but, when I exported the gpx to strava, it came out as 3,800. I haven't put it on garmin connect yet but I suspect it'll be somewhere in between. Strava always underestimates climb but, that said, movescount seems to go way over the top the other way
I got 4081' Ian. I've compared my two skyline races (I did it in September too) and, going by Garmin Connect, this year's was slightly shorter at 20.66m but with 300' more ascent. The only route difference for me (other than the new descent to Hope) was contouring over those tussocky bits after the Jacobs Ladder checkpoint rather than doubling back up the path. Did you do the down and up to Ringing Roger at the end? (I very definitely didn't!)
Thanks to the organisers for another brilliant Skyline! You even got (mostly) great weather for us. I loved the new descent into Hope (although my toenails were less keen and are now making their dissatisfaction felt :))
The Cornish Pasties with mushy peas and gravy at the end were an inspired choice - perfect!
Ian - sorry I didn't come back to see you to pick up some beer. I remembered I'd left my cash in the car park field and was too apathetic to make the round trip, Hope to catch up with you soon :)

Quick question on the results.. I noticed Simon Harding from Macclesfield, who finish in 2nd position, is listed at the bottom of the results - I presume "m7" means he missed checkpoint 7 (i.e. Jacob's Ladder, I nearly missed that one as well!). But how come Oli and Pete don't have times down for Grindslow Knoll and Ringing Roger? In fact there are quite a few times missing throughout the results list, so how is it determined whether or not they missed the CP or simply they didn't dib properly? I suppose it's a bit more obvious when 3rd place misses a checkpoint vs a mid-pack runner!
In Simons case he did the honourable thing and came to the RO and put is hand up and told us he'd missed it, it was discussed allowing it to stand but as Simon said he didn't go to all the CP's, it wouldn't have effected his position though. not sure about the others, it was noisy at some cps due to wind noise so knowing whether the dibber bleeped can be an issue, I understand they checked with race marshals who were taking numbers as a back up.
my first time on this one, and have to say one of the best organised I've ever done - even the weather was sorted!
I'll be losing 2 toenails after the descent to Townhead, but otherwise no complaints ;)
[oh - except I'm gonna need to beg for the return of my number again...]
I wish I'd done the down-n-up though, it couldn't possibly've taken me any longer than the never-ending slog around the top of Grindsbrook...
I had a great day too; made it to Mam Nick on my target of 2:20 but had to slow/ stop for nourishment on the way up Rushup. Once I got going again no-one passed me from Lord's Seat on, until one guy in the last mile.
Brown Knoll was a slog, even though my line was good.
Wasn't sure about my 'shortcut' north of the Woolpacks until I realised I'd caught up with 2 guys from Totley, then passed them on the way to Grindslow.
Finished in 4:45; pie and gravy; tea, and a few beers to take home. Glad the heavens opened as I was leaving and not an hour earlier; could have been a sense of humour failure.
Really great organisation, website, communication and marshalling.
Many thanks Dark Peak, really well done, really appreciate it
Nice photos Pat! Here is a link to my pics taken on Win Hill.

I wish there was time to crop and edit photos before putting them out.

MickTor - how do you put a link that stays at the bottom of all your posts? I'm a bit thick like that!
What Ian said! ;)
Backtothefells this is Micktor - Your signature is working well - Over.
It's one of my favourites. It's all in the pose of the runner. Don't forget, you can have the image for free if you want to print it off.
pic 602's a good looking lad ;)
Recognize a few forumites on there! I took about 5 photos, I'll try and put some up.

Photography is NEARLY as good as fell running. If only you could run to the front, take photos, carry on, run to the front etc etc.
