Happy New Year all!
Woo hoo, us oldies are only just home from the pub, nothing quiet in there....
Walked the 11/2 miles home at a brisk pace and am swimming the river at 10am tomorrow and fetching the car. Best head for bed, us pensioners need our sleep!
Need your head testing Moley 🤣😂🤣
Happy New year to you all.
Not much going on apart from the wet weather.
Wet around here :(
Just been out to bleach and hard brush the patio.
After 24hr of rain it will be like new tomorrow.
(Takes all the green off and kills the moss)
.... and stops you falling on your arse!
Hope the bleach isn't going into the drains Stagger. You'll have those green eco warriors on your case!
Ha ha ha yep been down on it.
All into the drain, but we put bleach down twice a year for the smells.
Top tip for the patio - Jeyes 4 in 1 patio cleaner. No scrubbing required 😎
Cheers Rich
No probs - used to use bleach and this stuff is much better. You needs 24 hours of dry weather after application which might be a difficult at the moment 😂
Been in the garden planting this morning.
Garlic, carrots and parsnips in the raise vegetable plot.
Peas in the greenhouse.
Been over the flower beds with the hoe and given it all a light dusting of bone meal fertiliser.
Lawn has been spiked and a light sprinkle of chicken pellets added.
Let nature take it's course now.
Just done a 24 hr trial with Jeyes 4:1 Patio and thick bleach on alternative concrete flags.
Put both on yesterday lunch time with a watering can. Left both to do their best.
Just washed of with water can.
Verdict is both excellent.
Bleach was cheaper but I used more.
Jeyes was mixed at 4:1.
Either method is fine but I had to spread the bleach with a brush.
Jeyes just went straight on and is definitely quicker.
Cool 😎 a comparison challenge like the Pepsi / Cola one in the 80’s! The Jeyes gets better over time with it keeping the dreaded green away for 6 months or so
Hyper-Chloride (available at agricultural merchants) is also very effective.
Quite around here 🤣😂🤣
Silence! Bliss
Pengy! Top score for prolonged quietness!!
Not quiet around here. Stihl engines going like the clappers.
First time this year the weather has allowed me a full day strimming, lawnmowing and a bit of hedge trimming.
I'll be aching in the morning!
Yeah.
But your garden will look great.
Logging for us with the nice new Husky chainsaw and axe, supplies for 2022 going under cover.
Put my onions and shallots in today and early spuds. Lovely day up the allotment.
Garlic outside with carrots and peas in greenhouse all now sprouting.
Parsnips in greenhouse are a little slow.
Put in the early spuds - Charlotte; and onions. Broad beans and peas coming up nicely in the greenhouse and Cauliflowers and romanesque just sown. Bring it on.
Are you there???
Proper Spring day. Spent much of the time in the garden, apart from a walk up Beacon Hill.
Gorgeous... Nice run this morning on the mine "pit".... Managed to get a tiny bit sunburnt! Then a blast down M5/M50 with the windows down and music blaring... Spring is here!
Another grand day 🏝
Good Night 🛌zzzz
Dont forget to put the Masters Lounge alarm on!
Good morning Bank holiday.
Thanks to all our armed forces past and present.
What do the germans think of VE day?
They're probably laughing their heads off at people building cardboard tanks in the gardens etc... Some of the stuff I've seen on the news is absolutely cringe-worthy
From where I am sitting looks like they had the last laugh! They seem to be running the EU and we have taken our ball and gone home.
I work from home and I'm used to having Sky News on in the background for the first couple of hours each morning while I confirm and book in my orders. But wall to wall CV and Kay Burley combine to make it intolerable recently.
In my search for something this morning I've stumbled upon Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing on iPlayer from a couple of years ago.
It's worth watching if you haven't seen it. It's not your typical fishing programme. It's actually a little light-hearted fun, and a touch of men's health as both have had heart issues, and some great scenery.
Good point on the health.
But also the banta. Most blokes enjoy a bit of light hearted jovial conversation to keep their heads going.
That's one thing lockdown has me realise that's missing from a daily routine. A bit of Male.humor.
There was a time when light hearted jovial conversation could be found on here, but it appears that Coranavirus is killing the forum by alienating the folk that can relax and dwell on positives and smile through diversity and share there sense of humour on here, shame really.
It was nice out in the (much needed) rain this morning.
Not looking for argument just my take on things.
