Enjoyed the final points race of the season today at Elterwater. It's a great series of races with a bit of everything so thanks to all who made it happen.
Thought I'd bring this thread back to the fore. Enjoyed watching the Scout Scar races today and great to see so many familiar people I used to race against in the senior race........and how graceful they were in letting so many younger runners get in front of them! Well done all and did the lone Horwich runner stay in the lead of the men?
Looks kike it :- http://www.helmhill.co.uk/pdfs/resul...lts%202018.pdf
Ahh but Graham, you were at least taking part......quite a few familiar people like myself, just watching, still wearing all the kit and passing on words of wisdom such as 'go on! fantastic! looking good!'.....until the recognised runner is out of earshot, then 'he/she is really suffering, crikey he/she has aged a bit'......all in good humour! In my own defence, I was wearing boots, carrying a rucsac and it will have taken me more time just to get along to the high point than it took you to do the complete race.
Thanks John - the sharp end of the race was impressive.
Slippery conditions today, rain held off though. Seem to be going ok, it's an auspicious start!
