You look good in those rose tinted glasses mate, I would hang on to them if I were you, you'll be needing them for the next few years

Not whilst the Govan Piss Can is hanging around like a bad smell you wont.
Baconface is like an annoying socially awkward family member for you lot now.
He is family and bought you nice pressies over the years so you can't say much but the fact he stripped naked and pissed on the christmas turkey last year is still fresh in your minds.
The GPC did a lot of good for you, but he made a damn good job of leaving you in a shit state and his hawk like presence seems to be making the elephant in the room get bigger by the day for you.
Up until recently i never wanted to see the egotistical rancid shitter's face ever again if it could be helped, now i would pay the old sod to stay and maintain that cloud hovering right above the unprepossessing shithole that is old trafford.
Manchester, eh? Great place.
Strange..
2 Champions League titles, 1 cup winners cup, 13 league titles, 5 FA cups, 4 League cups.. he could have relegated us or left us an old finished team like Busby did and he'd still have left us fine. The reason why is he added to the legendary status of the clubs, the fan base is now even bigger, its not just about the victories, it is the style of football, the come backs, the youth. It what drives Chelsea and City fans to get so angry because they can't buy history.. and it just riles them..
He then left us after we'd just won the title by a record margin, with a young team with a good average age and the best young keeper in the world... our average age is about the youngest in the league.. at 25..
A 32 man squad, 27 of which are 30 or younger, 22 aged 28 or younger..
You can make all these emotive statements all you want, but the reason you have to refer to him in such insulting ways is you cannot back up your arguments with actual facts.
Lets liven things up a bit lads, too much tension.
Cardiff 0 - 0 West Brom
Chelsea 3 - 1Crystal Palace
Everton 2 – 0 Fulham
Newcastle 2 - 2 Southampton
West Ham 2 v 1 Sunderland
Hull 1 v 1 Stoke
Aston Villa 1 - 2 Man Utd
Norwich 1 - 2 Swansea
Tottenham 1 - 2 Liverpool
No I find Danbert quite funny.. just blind with envy about United.. I just think its funny how I'd never make up names for a manager.. Well I dont think I have, fat waiter was used for Rafa but dont think I ever used it.. too much respect for him..
I just find it funny how a team full of shit players, with a shit manager dominated for 20 years.. somewhere along the line someone was right about his managerial ability and players he picked..
Cardiff 0 - 0 West Brom
Chelsea 5 - 1Crystal Palace
Everton 1 – 1 Fulham
Newcastle 2 - 2 Southampton
West Ham 3 v 0 Sunderland
Hull 0 v 0 Stoke
Aston Villa 2 - 3 Man Utd
Norwich 1 - 0 Swansea
Tottenham 2 - 2 Liverpool
City V Arsenal 2-1
It'll be interesting to see how Man Utd get on without Van Persie for a month. Are they too Robin-reliant?
I suspect Danbert might be a little chuffed today.
Arguments aside that was one of the best and most entertaining matches I've seen for a long time.
Fast direct football as it should be. I thought Arsenals heads started to drop with 10 minutes to go.
Anybody who can put 6 goals in against the leaders even at home is a serious contender.
Danberts a lucky man but in 5 years time they will be old men and Leeds will be back....;)
tick tock..:D
Iain one rule I've always tried to live by in life is that if you dish it out, then you should be able to take it.
In the years ahead, if events unfold as I hope and increasingly expect, it is a mantra that united fans should try and emulate as much as possible.
I remember hearing that a significant number of united fans were in the Luton end when we were relegated in '83 notwithstanding the fact that their club were playing the same day. That seemed to mark the beginning of nearly three decades of, at times, highly puerile derision, gloating and scorn at our expense.
United fans ringing phone-ins pretending to be blues affecting gratuitous use of the word "massive"; songs about Curly Watts and floodlights; dismissive talk about 'Noisy Neighbours' and a 'small club with a small mentality'; united players refusing to refer to us by name - claiming as they comically still do that Liverpool was, is, their big game; the club endorsed banner which was a byword for a complete absence of grace and dare I say it, class; their fans organising a party to mark our 30 years without a trophy.
All these things were there to serve the purpose of self-amusement, but they were also designed to act as a means of asserting a sense of superiority over us. A snidely way of reminding us about who, in their eyes, was boss.
These are things that I took issue with at the time, but largely took on the chin. I hoped and prayed that the dynamics would change, but in my heart I never thought that was anything other than a fantasy.
And now we find ourselves on the cusp of the boot being on the other foot, at least to some extent and on that basis, you shouldn't expect anything other than an uncomfortable ride from me and all other blues and if you have any character about you, it is something that you will accept with a degree of good grace and humility that was all too missing when you assumed we'd always be second best.
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
Well played City, they deserved it. Still scored 3 there. Need more steel. Still not given up, but need some luck........(and points off the other big teams!!!)
Liverpool did similar, we lived under their shadow for 2 decades.. I still look at Hansen with respect, have no silly nicknames for Dalglish, Shankley et al..
You get so angry because you want to be able to buy history and you can't...
Bert Trautman... anything else?
Think Man U and you think the busby babes, Best, Law, Charlton et al, 1968, 1999, Fergie's fledglings.. youth, great comebacks.. we have a history that only Liverpool can match in the England. You hope our support is based on short term success, but its not, its based on being United. Its why Liverpool will always bounce back..
Barca and Madrid in Spain..
Steve Clarke sacked as manager of West Brom....
You've completely misunderstood my original post.
As City fans we're just as happy taking the piss out of ourselves as we are out of you lot and certainly didn't become Blues to lord it over others. Most of us had no or little choice in the matter and we've made the best of what has been a bad job for the most part.
From what I've seen many of you lot became rags for the sole reason that the team were successful. You've known nothing but winning trophies but even that's not been enough for you. Your mantra has not been simply to glory in your own vicarious success but to mock and deride others. You've done that without realising the utter and complete irony of "fans" like you mocking true fans who have a genuine connection to the club they support and care little about how many trophies they've won.
The truth is that many of you simply won't be able to take the boot being on the other foot.
Just finished reading 'Beastly Fury' about the origins of British football in the 1800's. Dodgy owners, controversial referee decisions, the top teams poaching the best players, crowd trouble and players going on the piss, some things never change

Wow..
This is superb!
1968 > 1993.. no title... little success.. and a relegation.. yet you still think it was simply about us being successful...
Well done.
No they didn't.. rose tinted glasses.. Look at the recent article about teams people love to hate... Man U and Liverpool were included...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...s-Arsenal.html
"Personally I have always said that before Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona was born, this Liverpool side was the best I’d ever seen. But they were hated"
Can you make it harder to piss on your arguments.. I'm getting bored..

Tick Tock
Iain lad, you needn't have gone to the trouble of digging up a poorly researched, half baked article that has one paragraph saying Liverpool were hated, you should have just asked someone who watched football in that era. Despite 20 years of dominance Liverpool were never hated like United are today.
A couple of other points from the article, I've talked to a lot of people about football over the years and I've never heard anyone say 'I hate those MK Dons'. As for Souness's Rangers being hated, it was Souness that was hated, not Rangers. He achieved the feat of being hated by both Rangers and Celtic fans because he signed Maurice Johnston for Rangers who was a Catholic
It's just envy...
Souness isn't hated by Rangers fans.. thats incredible.. he left for Liverpool but he's still liked up there..
Mourinhos chelsea..
Any team at the top eventually gets turned on. With City it is easy because they are a souless team who sack their most successful manager in decades for merely finishing second, 12 months after winning a title..
Great result by City yesterday. I had to hunt down a pub to watch it in and
eventually found one and it had lots of happy City fans in :D
The other outstanding result of the weekend was today's Liverpool demolition of Tottenham.
Suarez was brilliant again!
AVB gone...
Shocking.. in touch of CL place..
They sell his best player, he spends 100 million quickly, the team look unbalanced, but what did they expect...
City have set the style of how football is these days...
It seems United are the only club with any class...
Olympiacos v Manchester United
Manchester City v Barcelona
AC Milan V AthleticO Madrid..
Means AC Milan have gone from that pot, a good one for Chelsea.
Galatasaray v Chelsea - tough one...
Zenit v Borussia Dortmund
Schalke v Real Madrid
Bayer Leverkusen v Paris Saint-Germain
So it must be Arsenal V Bayern Munich... very tough draw..
That last match defeat has hurt them..
United get the reward for a good qualifying.
Yes Barca!
It's a "no lose" game. If we go out there's no shame and we are fresher for the pursuit of domestic honours. Win it and it's a famous victory.
I was amused by the obviously untrue statement from Spurs: The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties
Under the headline "Tottenham sack manager Andre Villas-Boas". Related stories include "I'm not a quitter, says Villas-Boas".
It's all part of the pantomime that is top-flight football.
