Hi Tough of the track,
How did you get on with the Double LWW. I assumed quite a lot of stuff with your times etc and went up from Clay Bank to Eskletts hoping to meet up with you and offer moral support with inspirational food (tips from Master) on that awful old railway line section, I got to Eskletts at 15.30 and had a snack until 15.45 and then walked/ jogged back to Clay bank. Left Clay bank for home at 17.20.
Hope it went well.

Now, THAT'S funny
Well, in light of regular race wins by various Ponies (including FellMonster and now Amex), I thought we should avoid appearing too elitist and determined to have a jolly good go at finishing last at Tal Y Fan last Saturday:
things were looking good at the start line, as only about 55-60 starters, mostly wearing Welsh club vests lined up
I made the mistake of going quite hard at the "stupidly steep" road start, but the few people behind me soon started overtaking, and by the summit I felt sure I must be near the back
I threw in a slight diversion on the first descent, which allowed another 4 runners to outflank me, and settled in for the run back feeling confident
just for good measure, I threw in another, more major diversion, losing about 10-12 mins, but BLAST! what was this? as I rejoined the route there were 2 lasses running together just behind me <doh!>
I thought there was a good chance they were actually sweeping the course, but there was a nagging thought that they might have their names put into the results anyway...
the final descent started with a lovely runnable section through bracken, which I enjoyed, and pulled away from the ladies :o
the final section was on very steep road, and I started to suffer, and heard tell-tale footfalls getting closer behind me...
the 2 charming young ladies cruised past me about 20 yards from the finish, and my mission was complete:
56th out of 56
now we can truly say that the Ponies welcome all-comers! :)
Well done Daz!!!
After coming precariously close to last in a few races this year I am pleased to see another Pony has done it before me!!
(And also nice to see there are other ponies out there with my sort of ability, not just race winners and Bob graham finishers!:D)
Nelly
I see THE MASTER's influence is rubbing off.....he has tendancy to wander off course during races.......granted it's usually because he gets curious and is following a bearded gentleman but nonetheless.
I see his compass is advertised for sale on the SALES & WANTS section of the pony website too.....interesting
A nice report tho sir.....I'd say we're truly fully inclusive with our carefree attitude.
Older tired men I'm led to believe also develop a tendency to head south,(not myself as yet you understand) . However when this happens a little blue pill is available from certain spurious quarters, just be carefull with drugs testing. ;):D
ps. Nice one Daz.:)
Super top report well done on having a great day out, and watching girls bottoms along the way:D what more could you wish for.
Master this report needs to go on web site, it;s what makes Ponies special just picture a report from any other club having the same passion and commitment to there sport i can't
F&*%ing well done
