Ah but the Flyroc doesn't have the Fascia band..so would be comparable with other shoes of similar weight/construction i suppose

Hi,
New member here :-) I am a barefoot runner (Holland). In the mountains I need some protection though. I have run succesfully in 5-euro watershoes. Vibam Five Fingers would be great as well.
But - for our next summer holiday to the mountains, my family wants me to wear "normal" shoes.
What I look for is a shoe that
- protects my sole from sharp rocks
- protects my toes from stubbing
- has good grip
- is lightweight
- is flexible. I'm used to my feet 'working' and I hate putting them in a 'ski shoe'
- has a wide forefoot
- no heel lift (I am used to flat shoes and fore foot running)
- no arch support (hate that).
Questions:
1. To what extent is the Recolite 190 a candidate for me?
2. If I can do mountain runs in watershoes, can I do it in Recolites?
3. Will the sole survive a few days on rocky trails?
4. How is the fit? (lenght, width at forefoot and heel). My feet are wide at the toes.
THANKS IN ADVANCE !
And Inov-8 Insider, I like how you stay cool and factural, even when some posters get (kind of) agressive :D
http://www.inov-8.com/Products-Detai...6&P=5050973077 This should be a quality shoe i think Inov-8-insider will agree ( his personal faviorite correct if wrong )
Thanks for the suggestion. That was fast!
An alternative for me might be the Merrel Waterpro. http://media.rei.com/media/zz/c6f11c...cb6071647e.jpg
I've seen them in a shop. I might even rip the heel/arche plastic thing (under the insole) out, think that can be done :-) I've had good results with this 'surgery' on casual sneakers.
Any pros / cons of the Recolite, versus other Inov-8 shoes, versus the Merell Waterpro, for my goal (minimalist shoe for the mountain). (And yes I am used to feeling the ground and rocks under my feet :-) )
THANKS AGAIN !
