Long Mynd Valleys

Ground under foot today at titterstone was good so unless there's significant
snow over night the valleys should be fine .

Just got back from the valleys race . weather closed in towards the end which made navigation rather difficult . There was a group of people towards the end trying to decide which was best route to finish . Some of us went one way some another . The other route was better :o .

Great day , well organised . I can't wait till next year .

I think the only thing that will stop the pain in my legs now is beer . So I'm off down pub . Ignore any post I might make later . Drunken ramblings of a fell runner . :)

started off bright, sunny and warm and nothing too vicious topographically...

none of that lasted too long:eek:

tobogganing down the preciptous slopes was a real highlight for me

great course, well marshalled with a great atmosphere

Great route very very hard! Glad i did it though i wasnt thinking that half way round! Definately the hardest race i have done so far

Great run, loved the snow but my backside is still cold! :(

Any news of number 837 who came unstuck so close to the finish? Hats off to 877 and 756 for helping him.:)

And me! I was 877 - I hung around till they brought Graham off the hill and they took him straight up to the cafe for a warm up and a drink I think.

I loved it when it started snowing but was glad to be getting off Yearlet when I did. Really enjoyed this race although my legs are feeling it now and blooming kids aren't settling and having me run up and down stairs all night:eek:

I did this race today for the first time, and it was only my second fell run.

I managed to twist my ankle when my foot hit a rock sliding down the descent before Callow, which made the last part of the race a bit of a grit-your-teeth affair. That was just at the point when the poor weather came in as well. Still, I managed to make it round and finish before the cut off, which was good enough for me.

Off the top of yearlet took a bit of a wrong turn and made things even more difficult for myself, but I suppose it all adds to the fun.

The drive home was a bit painful though. Good job the car was automatic...

i think i was the other one of the group of four at the end well done karma and the bloke that stayed behind with the runner we came across. glad to hear they got him off the road again. thanks also to i think it must of been stef for pushing me to get my legs working again after we set of in search of a marshall that was hard

What an outstanding race, made even more enjoyable by the slalom decents in the snow. The winner well deserves their medal, as I maximised the tread in the foot wells created by the runner in front tactic. Has to go down as my favourite fell race now. Thanks to all the marshalls and race organisers who did an outstanding job. I am going under 2 next year:)
