Nice vid, great job
Great race to watch. Holmsie just gave Rob too much time at the top, plus Rob took a better line this year. (although it was nowt like the great mans, who was tracked all the way down by Daz Kay and Ben Mounsey)
Some pix taken by Mrs T
Big thanks to the organisers for another great race and day.

Some photos taken from the start of the race (by the missus) and a few at the end. Great race, though found the decent tricky, got lost a few times around the quarry, had to ask a few walkers which way to go!!

Quarry?? Never saw it :sneaky:Well done glossop boy, i loved the drop off the Old Man, however my feet suffered again...i've got huge blisters on bottom of heels!!
Thanks to organisers for yet another brilliant race.
Also well done to the few Sunderland Strollers who entered on the day and then did
Keswick 1/2 on the Sunday.

Felt pants up Wetherlam but managed to SligShot up the Prison band and never stopped overtaking it seemed! Took a different line towards the bottom of the Old Man (headed left after the quarry) than those just in front as I'd recce'd going right on Friday and didn't enjoy it - it seemed to work!
Then hit the track/road and everyone seemed to be going backwards - maybe the person on Trunce thread who called me a roadie has a point...
1st ever Lakes race, very enjoyable. Pleasantly surprised with my performance, need to get myself up there more often!
Nic, 1hr25 and a bit.
has anyone seen the final results yet?
Results are up on the website...

Great race, really well organised. Apologies for keeping the marshalls at cp 3 hanging around I took a new line to take in Goats Water! Next time I'll look at the map! Thanks to the sweepers for being lovely and mountain goat like! Thanks to all the marshalls, helpers and the RO - lovely.
I was there, didn't have the best of runs. Felt crap till the top of wetherlam due to being late for registration, no warm up & belatedly realising I'd only had a cup of coffee to drink all day. Picked up after that and finished around 1:35 in about 60th place I think. Must try harder....
I also thought this race was supposed to be 9 miles, turned out to be 7.5 :w00t: I was pretty confused coming off old man thinking we must have a strange run in to make it 9 miles, and then I recognised the path leading to the start and belatedly started to speed up. Whoops!
This was a great race as usual-one of my favourites of the year and always sunny!!! I was astounded yesterday at the big names it attracts; the top 5 reads like a who's who of fell running English champions, men and women. Brill to see that little country races like this still attract the best.
1 issue though with the selfish (male) runner who, on accepting water from Mike Robinson at the top of Swirl Howe poured a bottle over his head, thus preventing anyone behind him from having a drink!!! Thanks Mike for the dribble left over anyway....
Fantastic race yesterday, just love this route it has everything a lakeland race should have!
Thanks to all who made this happen.
one question, who was the guy on top of Swirl Howe, he was also on Hindsgrath on the AW???
Long hair about 42-43
Thanks Olivia
What a nice bloke never knew his name have seen him loads of times over the years, yesterday he ran with me for a 100 m or so while i had some of his drink, not many folk would do that he also shook my hand after the race as we waited to see all were back ok.
i will know his name next time- well done on getting round yesterday x
The runner in question was me. I was offered the bottle from a very kind man and so I took a drink and squirted a small amount on my head. When I threw the bottle onto the ground it still had half its contents. I was also told at that point by the same man that there was orange squash at the top.
So it was hardly a crime in the full context of things. As for the accusation of selfishness I truly admit I am but not in the way you mean. One fellow hit the ground hard on the final descent right in front of me. I along with Daz H and one other stopped to see if he was alright, which he told me he was, so we continued on our way. Had he not have been I would have been prepared to stay with him and assist him in any way I could.
You see only those who have pride in their own being can put themselves in the shoes of others.

quite a nice one of Dow Crag just for Olivia, its not the first time thats been done and wont be the last.
Well done all.
[QUOTE=christopher leigh;482620]When I threw the bottle onto the ground it still had half its contents.
Why is it OK to throw the bottle on the ground? I think I'd suggest that the marshals are there for your safety not to water you or pick up after you.
