are we going to try and meet up somewhere, it would be nice to meet you all...?
Suppose it is a bit hard to orchestrate as not everyone will want to hang around or can hang around till we have all finished...
But would there be scope for a post race drink??? A pre-race one would be an option too, but... I need my bed and I don't like to drink before a race...
there's a pub at the finish/start.....that's a well designed course:D
I'll be int pub after the race - I'm sure Dom will find me as I owe him a couple of shandys.
I'll be on a royal blue Fort, wearing a white Giro lid and suffering from a heavy cold. Good luck all.
Good luck to everyone riding tomorrow :) Looking forward to hearing how you got on in the pub afterwards
Well the unofficial forum race results are in:
Women
Hanneke 1st
Men
Antisocial 1st
Ady 2nd
Merrylegs 3rd
Brett 4th
Wharfego 5th
Well done one and all :)
Think Fishbulb was just behind me ahead of Ady and no doubt Triathlon finished well in front of us all, not sure what Idler did. I did 4.11.42. Need to improve my down hilling and getting my fell climbing fitness back as feel I could do much better.
Think Derby Tup may have lost his shirt in an ill advised forum betting ring.
Not sure how Hanneke did overall, she was having butterflies before the race and is not a 15 stone trucker called Bert as per my previous assertions, but a pleasant lady (though not convinced I did not spot a 5 o'clock shadow:D).
Overall an enjoyable day, personally found it much physically easier than the fell race, though the skills needed to do well are different.
Good do today. Some terrific rides including merry improving last year's time by over 40mins. Hanneke got round safely ;) Nice to meet Wheezing Donkey and great to see Bob back out and about
A few pictures - Antisocial, Ady and Merrylegs in the gloom on Ingleborough and a picture of Simon Fell viewed from the Pen y Ghent side showing the wall (top left) that I think the race goes up from Selside.

A few more random pictures; the first one of Jebby lolloping past the checkpoint on Ingleborough. Last two taken as I was coming off Pen y Ghent.

Glad to hear Hann finished okay. As a crucial part of her support crew I fear the support part of my role may have seemed less than effective on Pen y Ghent!!
OOh stolly
you made me look fat - I hate you
Makes a nice screensaver though - thankyou
What a privelage it is to be able to do an event like this. Well done to all our forumites, especially Anti & Fishbulb who were within a minute of each other. Thanks for the shouts at Cold Coats & Ribblehead - I daren't look up as I was trying not to hit those pesky rocks carelessly strewn all over the place. Lost my turbo gels soon after Simon Fell (slack pant elastic!) so no turbo mode for me today :o. Saw most of the forumites in attendance either before or after including Wheezing Donkey who was wheezing outside the pub. No Triathlon or Idler to be seen..............?
Anyway, after my last discussion with the time keeping people it seems there were serious problems with the electronic timing with no womens times logged at the end and a fair chunk of the mens missing. They were re-calibrating and logging somthing orother as I left so hope this gets sorted as my 4:19ish never logged at the finish either.
This link is for Hann ;)

Well what a fantastic day.
The view from Whernside was absolutely to die for.
Still nowhere near to my full fitness and really struggled on the flats (?!?) and uphills. Thankfully I flew on all the descents, it's nice to know I didn't lose that after my ankle op. Nobody passed me on any of the descents, so I was well happy, well, not that I can remember.
Brett you bu99er, I really thought I'd have you on the Penyghent descent, alas, it wasn't to be. Maybe next time.
Dressing as Dennis the Mennis was a giggle but too much support! Also the trousers kept falling down (it''s alright, I had lycra underneath!) and hopping on and off a cross bike with baggy trousers, not too easy!
Well done to all forumites.
Well done to all, great day out, saw you Clive coming up Pen Y Ghent, great outfit mate. Antisally, your only fat in the head! Saw Hanneke coming up PYG looking a bit grim, but you did it Hann!!! This is the toughest Cyclocross race in the world. Thanks to DT, Dom and Stolly for the words of support, really spurs you on when your suffering, nice to see the one arm bandit (Bob) too:cool:
Yes I remember the incident, me trying to cycle up a tough bit when I wasn't really fit enough, oooooooppps, sorry!
Sadly I won't be a fit this year either so may well stay further back to avoid the stress of knowing I have K&CAC breathing down my neck.
Won't be Dennis again tho, Dennis is dead, long live Dennis. I bought a bunny suit for the Easter fell races but due to ankle problems the only place I wore it was at work, it was madness! Probably too hot for a race anyway.
This year's H v C will hopefully produce a new fancy dress.
It was good to see all you Keighley and Craven roadshow performing really really good, and it was a pleasure to cheer you all on ( well apart from Brett who I thought I'd beat!).
Think there were only 2 Toddies this year but I'm sure in the future we may give you a run for your money. See you at the Cross races.
Good effort chaps.
No Triathlon or Idler to be seen..............?
You can't have waited around long enough :)
4:44 - happy with that. Suffered a bit on the roads bizarrely - no speed. Cramped a bit. Not enough to eat. Blah blah. What an experience.
'C'est nes pas sport. c'est la guerre!'
Shame not to meet Fishbulb, mrs only allowed me 1 pint:(
big question. Did jebby win?
Yeah, sorry not to see you (again!). Nice to meet the forumites I did see though!
T'was a good if painful day out. bit slower than last time I did it but had a few 'issues' so I'm probably there or there abouts. There's a thread about the race on the Singletrack forum and somebody says 'God, I love/hate this race!' which sums it up, eh!
Nick Craig won.
ok Brett, the thought of getting up at 0315 on a Monday after chocolate and champagne.......nahhhhhhh, I think """"""""working from home"""""" is in order!
Damn straight - go on Tuesday.
What a lifestyle you Hebden Bridgers live :D
I've had a couple of pints and a pizza!
Next years biggie for me ( after i complete Borrowdale!).
Well done everyone. Great race. 2nd year of spectating. If I can stay in one piece long enough to get any training done I might be tempted to give it a go next year. God knows how you get down the descents on those happy shopper bikes though, I'm used to a bit more bounce for my buck :D

Pleased to see Ady has been included. Very rare he has trouble with chips! :)
