Well done Lloyd, you have done the Isle of Man proud.
Mark Cavendish = Tour de France, Green Jersey winner 2011 :D
Lloyd Taggart = English Fell Champion 2011
Not bad for a tiny rock in the middle of the Irish sea.

Anyone know what place Tim Midgley came in? I spoke to him earlier but he didn't know except to say he blew up and came in around 2:35

Because Lloyd has won the Championship, I reckon that deserves a championship race being held on the Isle of Man, British or English!!

Does anyone know how many started?
First time for me on the course and I had a nightmare, but enjoyed it all the same :) I started well and felt comfortable up the first couple of climbs. But after check point 2 I started to slip and slide all over and quickly lost concentration and became quite disheartened as I literally slipped back through the feild, im sure everyone will have passed me at some stage in the race as I spent a lot of time on the ground soaking up the stunning veiws!!! From somewhere I managed to get back into a great rhythm coming up out of Bowderdale beck ( it must have been that bunch of foreign supporters cheering everyone on ) but then like a fool went a bit astray contouring round the calf and I couldve cried haha I had gave up completely at that point and jogged back. A great experience and thanks to those who put the race on and especially the marshalls. The times of the leaders are unreal, hats off to them :)
...a bit like this fella at the bottom of Winder...

Some footage from the event - wasn't ready with my camera for the leading two though... sorry guys !
(watch in HD!)
Got me four in now for the English Champs, big mistake at Loughrigg sunk any chance of a good placing though.Any rumours as to what next years races will be? with no Calder Relay its a good excuse to get out for some reccie runs over winter........
Just about recovered from Sunday. Didn't think I was going to run after going over on my ankle last Friday. Anyway passed a late fitness test. Definitely a race where you need to have 1 leg longer than t'other - not sure which 1 tho' :).
A pleasure & an honour to finally meet Wharfeego.
Don't know if there'll be "more to follow"? Depends whether my laptop repair person manages to extract my fellrunning images from my "virus'd" 'ard drive?
That's nice Manhar. Thank you. (not sure that some others on 'ere would say that?:)))
Hi,
I'm wanting to pre enter Sedbergh Hills Race but can't find an entry form to print off. I've emailed the contact on Kendal ac website but haven't had a reply.
Has anyone else pre entered? If so where did you find the entry form?
Cheers
Martin
I am thinking along the same lines as yourself, but who are you going to post your entry to?
many doubling up after Weasdale? Good OMM prep!
Anybody on here doing the above tomorrow? Bit last minute but my mate has rang me and said are we going, to which I said yes, despite being quite knacked from yesterday’s 20 miler, the second this week. Still I will just take a steady run round.

Yep will give this one a go. Same for me a steady run round. Weather could be interesting...
It's a fairly stout undertaking and the forecast isn't brilliant either. Don't get tricked into going off too fast by the easy running between CPs 2 and 3, 3-4 will be murder if your legs go on you and nav will be tricky if the clag is down. Needless to say i won't be there, i did it in 2009 and i'm still trying to get rid of the knee problem i got for my trouble. Have fun though, and wear Mudclaws.
Good advice MB - I use this as a training run. Lures you in to a false sense of security and even knowing that I still haven't enjoyed the descent to CP4. The 'direct' descent off Winder is great... if you have any strength left.
Would add that I found 212s were perfect for running it last week BUT the Howgill Buzzard was out in force near Castley (CP2). 10 mins of ducking and being - let's be polite - downright concerned that I would have to change my underwear before the finish - but at least tomorrow there'll be safety in numbers. The trod that skirts around Calders summit has slipped a little during the last month's rainfall but is still one of my favourite paths, but not as easy to find once the clag sets in...
Watch out for the Buzzard on the South side of Castley Knotts :D
