As a pony who wears his shorts OVER lycra for very good reasons, AND indulges in activites other than fell races, (even doing one tomorrow), I feel I should have a look at this DVD... what am I missing?

Here we go again. We're getting back to the foundation garment discussion...
A lesser man might be offended by the mere suggestion of cellulite... but not I. The lycra masks and supports that which lies beneath, but cellulite it is not ;)
As for the DVD, I didn't realise it was a BG thing. Got to be worth a look.
Langley 7 hilly road race today. As Macc Lad put it, it'd be a fell race if it wasn't on tarmac. Virtually starts in my front garden, so it'd be rude not to do it:)
Are we going for the longest thread here?
Good luck to all Ponies competing today, wherever that may be!
Wehay! We're in Fellrunner magazine-good article.
Pony Neil
Mission accomplished.
In brief, a good run with a bit of chat; a bit of banter and passed a few towards the end.
As I thanked a marshall for giving up his time to help the race happen, a purposeful looking young filly light heartedly said "If you can talk, you're not trying hard enough!"
With that, I resolved to sit on her shoulder (metaphorically, not like a parrot) and passed her with a mile to go... no smug malice (for 'tis not the way of the pony), just responded to her advice.
Well, chuff me, if I didn't then pass a few more on the way down...
I don't know if I managed a PB, but I probably knocked a minute or two off last year's time, which was a big improvement on the year before.
All in all, a good run. Who needs to be a thoroughbred?:)
Hope t'other ponies had a good run out?
Right, where did I leave those cakes...
Well done Lantern!
There were 5 Ponies at the Shepherds Skyline.
Nice to meet Fleeter who i saw finishing very strongly:)
Mrs Crumbly messed up her nice outfit by falling 3 times and Amex and Mr Crumbly came down neck and neck for the final furlong.
Met Tussockface too but i probably didnt make much sense to him as i always talk gibberish after a race:D
It was Amex's birthday i let him buy me a pint of Shandy (its probably supposed to be the other way round;) ) and i still feel a bit wobbly after it:o
good running george, well done to all ponies who ran today
well done ponies..........:D :D :D
still waiting for my new coat:o
That's OK, I listen gibberish after a race, so as a negative multiplied by a negative gives a positive, I understood every word. :D
It was good to meet so many of you today (The Master, Fleeter, Mr and Mrs C, Jolliver Jim), albeit briefly; and a bunch of other forumites too (Stagger and Mrs S, and BillJ amongst them). Hope you were all satisfied with your performances. Even if you weren't, it was still a beautiful autumn day out.
Sorry I couldn't stay for the pub afterwards, but I'm making up for it now.....
BTW, is it OK for a Pony to be on Old Speckled Hen, or is this an RSPCA
matter?

try a sherry
Is this the official club drink? If so, I fear for the future.
For these fell ponies that are out of condition, can I suggest this remedy?

brilliant what do you do with them , grilled fried or barbecued??
count me in I could do with a pick-me-up.
Probably best if i steer clear of those....they look quite strong and it took me an age to kick the crack pipe:cool:
I gave my vest its first outing on Sunday morning on my normal Pen Y Ghent run; the added 'horse' power was much appreciated :) .
Unfortunately I was unable to initiate it fully:
Sweat? Check
Mud? Check (loads of mud)
Snot? Check (just the odd wipe  )
Blood? No! I promise to try harder next time.
Ponies seen on the gallop at the Shepherds Skyline...

Keith Parkinson
I must of been running to fast for the cameraman :p
Thanks for outing us Keith:D
Was definitely one of those days where smiling for the camera wasnt an option. I might have managed a thumbs up to someone (Steve Bateson perhaps?) but those are always the ones where you end up looking a bit of a tit:rolleyes:
Would you mind if we pop a few up on our website? Will give you full credit obviously...
Found one...

Skewered when still live is the preferred method:mad:
Best method is to chop and boil them with onions and pickles.
Here is a picture showing the preparation of these horse balls.

The DVD in question is 4hrs + of un-edited footage could be cut down to a quality 1hr session me thinks!!!. But watching it in its raw state is an endurance event itself , I beat the Master on this one as I have seen it four times.(I know which bits to fast forward now) But it should help the thread along especially if the Master keeps loaning his copy to other ponies.I ran on Sunday in the NYSD league XC cracking new course but alas could not enter as a pony. .........lots of athletes asking about the new club though.;) Happy Birthday Amex, had a pint for ya.:D
Mrs C try and stay on your feet at Pendle, where was the pony vest:confused:
I didnt FF any of it:D
Looks like we may have a couple more North East Ponies to join you by the way Mr Ambrosia....vests will be on the way to them imminently:)
HELP!!!
Me thinks I know a few of you donkeys out there but if you know me you'll know i'm a bit of an ass me sell.
I saw dvd very early on without fast forwarding it and watched the good bits again on the morning of my BG round. Inspiring stuff.
I also do canny equestrian portraits :D
We know who you are Nee Bother:cool:
Reading that piece in the Mag, it looks like you've followed the same ethos that got Bowland Fell Runners 'up and running' back in the early 90's. Membership is still only £5 or £6 p. a. just to cover FRA/UKA affiliation; and we don't have any 'standing committees'
I think its fair to say that we're delighted with the mag article and the response. I didnt realise Bowland operated on such a basis- fair play indeed.
Loving the pony pictures taken at Shepherds skyline.
Do most "fell" clubs not operate this way?
Us happy chaps at DFR only pay minimal fees to cover costs, we do have a committee but they are mainly a group of like minded folk driving & planning for the club.
