What a great day out, pity you couldn't make it Amex but thanks for organising it, you may have started something now well done :)
Great to meet so many fellow runners from the forum, don't know what them poor walkers thought at a herd of fellrunners coming out of the mist at them :D we got some funny looks or were they just amazed at our fairy!
SteveS easily won the dance off, I don't think he sat down once he got in the club, the BG is going to be a walk in the park for him after that
Even the locals wanted their picture taken with the King of the floor!

A few photos uploaded on the Pony website courtesy of Ambrosia Kid:)
Looks a bit parky. Emmi was brave with that outfit! (brave against the weather, not you motly crew:) )
Well well well!
Thanks for all the kind words, yes i did not feel that well but shit happens.
Was fantastic to watch you set off looked like the start of a race!!
And not had a pint yet so will have to make up for that!
Hmm watch this space i will devise another day out.
Thanks a million for turning out it meant a lot
First chance to get back on here. I'll echo what others have said.....great day out, thoroughly enjoyed it, even those moments along the top of Helvellyn when the feet were frozen, the fingers were numb, I felt like Bambi on ice and the wind was chilling the rest of me:D What a great way to spend the Sunday before xmas!!!
And special thanks to Amex for organising it all and STILL turning up despite feeling far too rough to run....top man!!
See you all soon out on those BG recces!!
Just a note to all after some dogging:eek:
The third annual "Xmas on the fells" details will be issued at the end of August.
If you have any ideas on date route please pm me and i will try and take your thoughts into account.
The venue base will as always be Keswick.
The route will be around 15 miles with up to 4-5000 foot climb
The meal will more than likely be at Lakeland spice
The Dancing will be at the loft:cool:
Steve
Sounds good Steve,
Is this open to non runners in the evening?
Ace-ness, I'll bring the missus, we had a great time last year.
I'll be there again, last year was a hoot, massive wind chill notwithstanding :)
i drank far to much ale last year, wont be here this year though, off to thailand for 3 weeks
I shall be there. Running, Beer, Curry, what more can you ask for?
Is this actually on Xmas day?
If the hubbies away Mountain Goatess will play! :D
Actually if it's not on Xmas day Mountain Goatess will play and leave the hubby at home! Hee Hee ;)
Think last year's do finished on Christmas Eve, I think, anyway it was before Christmas Day
Sounds good, will have to see if I can book the days off work.
MG no not on Xmas day. i am not that sad:p i have asked people to PM me with what they think is best then will go from there, i was thinking about the 23 of the 12 stay over then home on xmas eve but i am pretty easy! even the Sunday before the 21 would be grand.
Ah, only just noticed this!! Yes, count me in again. Had a great day, will try and stay overnight this year I think.
23rd good for me as it fits into my days off although I would be driving home the same day as back into work 6am Xmas eve. Will keep my eye on this thread and see what happens..............
I hope to be up again, had a great time last year. Seeing those 'kitted out for the Arctic' walkers' faces on Hevellyn as we all appeared out the cloud was a picture. The meal at Lakeland Spice and the ale at, um, lots of places, went down well too. I might even make it to the Loft again!
I'm easy over dates, would be nice to make it as close to Christmas as possible, if people can get the time off work.
As for where to run, how about something like the AW route, or a horseshoe including Grizedale Pike? I don't know the lakes well enough for whether that's likely to be possible in December, although it was very cold last year we did well in having a route that was mostly grassy so ice wasn't a problem.
Here we are wishing the Summer away already:D Any dates from the 19th onward would be fine for me but I agree with Steve that as close to Christmas as possible would be good
Arlreet me auld marra Amex, love to come on this years jolly, me being a family man would prefer not to be tooooo close to Christmas day, but as i'm only a part time jogger, will go with flow.
