Speaking of blind people, did anyone notice on the last page, in the picture of the Burnsall fell race, the person stood next to the boulder on the left hand side who just can't bear to watch?

Yes, I noticed that. Looks like they've got a coat over their head!
Great mag again. Liked the photo of Shane Ohly's head torch in the mountain reflecting off the snow.
Some brilliant photos accompanying the GL3D article :D
I've just got mine this morning.
...and whats the first thing I see, some happy easy going runner on the front page...could it be...Stanners!!
More to the point, how did my son get his picture AND name in the magazine before me, p75. The night of the blizzard on Haworth Moor !!
Ian said he was out there and saw a runner coming along. He had no idea it was Spyke. He only recognised him when Spyke ran towards him. He said he could not stop, he was doing a Tranter.
I had a happy ten minutes of procrastination when Fellrunner dropped through my letterbox yesterday and my over riding recollection of it was Ian's photo on pp94-95. A really stunning image. Looking forward to a proper read when I hit the sack tonight.
Seemed to have got an advance copy as mine landed last week...wondered about the lack of comment,,
I concur on the photos 3 brilliant and diverse double pages , the one showing the first five on the great lakes is incredible quality, pity one lad disappeared down the seam, and the p82/83 showing wasdale just encapsulates the lakes terrain and fell running for me.
one slight query..the article on uphill and downhill technique...can any one tell me how i can run uphill with my pelvis facing any other way but forward ...and as for keeping upright ...has he seen the posture of some of our front runners on a steep hill:wink: i won't mention mine.
Cheers to IDP for the article on hypothermia, very interesting.
Ha! Got in it again, two issues, two appearances. I better start charging :D
The Fellrunner pin-up Rob ! You'll be on page 3 next !
Just been made aware of the fact that I've managed to miss a very, very important page out of the magazine!
Please check the below links and help me spread the word - maybe just buy your tickets today?
Huge appologies to all involved in the organisation!

Britta
Lloyd and Jacks thought the back cover was funny!
Thanks for the mag! Really like the big photos included this time. IWC takes some amazing photos. And I really liked the one of Carl Bell at Wasdale. Reminds me of the sort of photos you see in surfing magazines in a way - speed, lightness and grace set amongst awe-inspiring nature.
Thanks again.
Should I have received my copy yet - ie, are they sent out in one shot? Thanks
I got mine weeks ago. If I were you I'd give them a ring.
Sounds as though a batch has gone missing.
Any suggestions who is the best to contact - the editor...?

Thanks - will do!
step step step step Step Step...rattle rattle...thunk...rip...Yeah!
No more work today.
Its arrived!!
I'm at home today and now have my face planted on the window looking down the road for postman Pat.
Just landed on the door mat but I was too slow. Mrs Stagger is now flicking her way through it.:w00t:
The postie has been and gone and not left me a FR mag
Just had a near heart attack caused by the crashing of The Fellrunner through my door! Nice to peruse it whilst eating my cinnamon toast.
No doubt that'll be the case for me. Glass half empty kind of chap.
I once discovered a new FRA mag a few days after it'd been posted, just sitting there in a magazine rack we've got. Girlfriend says, oh yes, I forgot to tell you that'd arrived!
Grounds for divorce? I should say so. And we're not even married.
A truly fantastic edition! Well done to Britta and everyone involved. The Bill Smith booklet is great and the cover of the main mag is a brilliant shot that puts me in mind of photographs from the 1st world war. Nice to see good runners racing in 101s too.
Surely there can't be a better association house magazine
I'm not very tolerant today Hes: I want a copy of Fellrunner to fall through MY letterbox and it hasn't. I would very much like to peruse it while munching some nice toast and marmalade - possibly regarding the rain outside with disdain - and taking occassional deep gulps of tea from my bucket-sized mug. None of these things are going to happen and I'm left in a state of seething despair.
This thread will have to go. My morale is sinking faster than Protodoc slid down Geronimo on Saturday :-(
I wont see it until I arrive back from London this Friday, something to really look forward to this weekend as I am dragged off to Centre Parcs! lets hope it gets delivered and I can sit there all weekend at the pool reading it, when I'm not out running in the Forest that is.
Does anyone else find that they have a burst of renewed enthusiasm when Fellrunner arrives and new resolutions are made for more days out, more and harder training and plans for big challenges ahead?
I don't need any more encouragement either, I'm booked up until about June next year!!
Great mag though.
