well I hope you carry a bit of clout in the holme area and in particular 'cricketing circles' and can convince them -as I dont!
Where does the race start? might have a cycle down and wish you all well

According to the 'Harriers' race-page;
http://holmfirthharriers.com/events/HolmeMoss.html
Registration and the Race Finish are both at the Cartworth Moor Cricket Club at Cartworth Moor, about one mile south of Holmfirth.
Grid reference is SE 134 067 and (for sat nav. users) the post code is HD9 2TU.
The Race Start SE 133 059 is about half a mile from Registration.
That's a good idea, I might do the same as well:rolleyes:
Won't make it tomorrow, my mate from Calder Valley will inform the organisers when he registers, hope somebody gets a run out in my place:cool:
Have a good'un one and all.
Ha I live in Holmfirth and that cricket club is the only one out of the many round here that I don't know how to get to! Typical
Have a great run everyone. Hopefully see some of the marshalls as I trott round the Horse shoe from wessenden head.

Hope this helps;)
You won't be short of water this morning. Normal English summer has been resumed!
Have a good run everybody. Just about to set of for the car park checkpoint. Was hoping to finally enter this year but haven't been running well recently nor ran the distance.
Sorry I didn't make it out to the start to wish you all well. Parents called this morning and said they were coming up to visit, not seen em for a while so had to put an end to my plans. Hope you all had a good race, looks pretty grim up there from the view I've got from my living room window.

What a race!!
I'll freely admit now that I very much doubt I'll do it next year!, as it was way too long for me.
Now if it had been drier/no wind, it might be a different story.
I started to suffer from the top of Holme Moss, & considered packing there (only entered for the experience), but decided to carry on.
Once we got down to Crowden, the energy levels were dropping, & the blisters had gone critical!
I'll also admit that Laddow Rocks scared me!, as one false-footing when climbing & it would certainly have hurt a lot on the way down!
Still, I managed to get back, with plenty of walking, to the finish - which was the main thing, in (according to my watch) 4.00:38
Now I find, that I can't walk downstairs properly, as my Achilles Tendons have siezed up
I look forward to the official results with interest though.
Richard (Asquith)
I hope you didn't take that shot of me, as I tried to gather enough residual strength to open my sandwich at the Cricket Club
Well done everybody!!, for a mad days racing!
My dippy so called better half went and lost her phone FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS YEAR, she thinks during the race.
A long shot, but I don't suppose anyone has found it? It would be good to get a rest from the ear bashing I've got since I got home.
I'm just sore cos she beat me. Again.
What a race! Yes i agree about 6 miles too long for me too! The water at the top of the big climb was most welcome!
Thanks to all the organisers!
The Noor was 4th - brilliant!
I think that's a race that I'm glad I've done so I can say I've done it, and not go back! Sorry! Really well organised, but I ran out of steam big style.
Really pleased for Karl, he looked strong at Laddow and managed to catch the loads in front I thought maybe top five but that's excellent... Any news on other cvfr runners
A few photos from a wet and windy Crowden are uploading on the link below for anyone that is interested. Looked a tough race in the conditions - particularly the ascent of Laddow Rocks!

Someone mention food?
Start & Moss - Finish more photos added over the next 24 hrs (2500 to check)
Thanks Richard, now I have to wipe tea out of the keyboard http://www.landyownersclub.co.uk/mor...kst-toppie.gif
Fantastic race!
Thanks very much to all involved. I haven't done that race or even run that far before but other than a dodgy spell between 12 & 13 miles I absolutely loved it and surprised meself with a 3:32.
Sure I wasn't alone in that and hope you all had a great run too! :)
I also enjoyed most of it. I got to the marshals on the final road and they said "about a mile to go". "Great," I thought "if I can do a ten minute mile I'll beat 3:10". But as it happened my last mile took 12 minutes (on a flat road)!!
I still beat my target time, and just sneaked into the top 100. But it'll take a lot of training until I'm as good on long stuff as I am on the short ones.
On that note, I agree with a few others, it's too long. I'll have a chat with the organisers and see if there's anything they can sort out for next year.:D
Great sandwiches, tea and cake.
It was nice to meet Ernie, and presumably Stagger, in the registration queue.
Cracking pics Richard - what were you using?
