Enjoyed reading your race report Daz, great stuff, glad you didn't peak too early at the finish!
Will have to keep checking back at the sales and wants, some good bargains there
Just had my name changed from U/A to Fell Ponies for the 3 Peaks Cyclocross, courtesy of the legend that is John Rawnsley:cool:
Them dam ponies get everywhere:D

A few ponies are having a day out at the seaside tomorrow (Sun 20th) Tussockface,DJ and myself are tackling the flat from Beadnall to Alnmouth.
I have ran this race twice before in 1986 and 87 wonder if the coast line has changed since then:confused: When I was a lad,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Don't forget yer bucket and spade for the sandcastle competition at the end
Ambrosia Kid had an excellent race at the 14 mile Northumberland Coastal Run coming in 60th out of 800 in 1hr 32 min. there's life in the old sod yet:D Tussockface also did disappointingly well to finish in 1hr 47 with Deejay last Pony in a more respectable 1hr 53
The NE nags putting us all to shame as per usual.
Well done chaps
What DJ is trying to say is that the three of us ponies looked around at the competition to whom was going for last place (try to emulate Daz) and realized that we had no chance due to there being over 800 competitors.
We did hear a good tale of Tussocks Rydal round which i feel should he share with you all is well worth a read, challenging to say the least!!!!!
FellMonster, Tussockface was a Geordie for the day only, Bradford is nearly your neighbour (re-NE nags)
Any Ponies going to Shining Tor tonight?
My first outing since the Anni Waltz
good luck Dan, enjoy! It's a bit of a slog to the Tor, but worth it to blast down the descent. Like Swoop, I quite enjoy the final sting in the tale :D
Doing Pendle Cloughs on Sat (if my bloody ankle gets better ) Any other ponies having a trot?
DanAzz - Shining Tor is one of my fave races, but giving it a miss this year as saving self for Snowdon on Saturday
Have a good'un :)
(P.S. Have you not bought that house in Hayfield yet? ;) )
DanAzz - Have you seen the Dark & White Mini Mountain Marathons ?
3-hour "score" type events - I'm seriously considering the first one on Sept.14th...
I was looking at doing some next year, I need to brush up on my navigation so they seemed quite a good event for me to do, not really planned for this year as up until 2 weeks ago we didn't know where we would be living.
If you want a partner for the first event, I can ask my social secretary for permission :o Not sure what we have on in September but I know she wants to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks but I don't know the dates yet.
Dan - there's a thread for the D&W Mini MM's under Races (down a page or 2) - we can use that if/when we decide what we're doing in September... :o
Have you guys (Fell Ponies) thought of becoming affiliated? We (Fat Boys) have / are discussing this. One benefit would be that we could enter a team in the FRA relays. A down side is that we have 'members' who are also members of 'real' i.e. affiliated clubs and could see our affiliation causing problems with dual membership and possibly destroying what we have. We are essentially a fun loving club but with some serious runners in our midst very similar to you guys I think.
Any thoughts, opinions etc.
