Right, moving from the non-existant ditherers list to the deffers, and coming up for the Friday warmup bash too this year
Just need to sort out getting there and there's less than 3 months left to do that! Is there a reasonable bus service from Penrith rail station to Keswick? 86 quid on the train  but probably beats a hungover 5 hour drive home on the Sunday.
Steve if it makes life a tad easier, then i can pick you up from Preston and drop you back their
I don't think I'm dithering anymore. I won't be able to make it this year. At least I don't think so! :p

What is EPO anyway? Eliminates Poos Only?
I'm sorry, I'm weak. This is page 319.... which previous page is this year's route and timings on? Somebody will have bookmarked it. If i have to go back over 318 pages I'll miss the event!!
Well that was a lovely route:
Am happy with it now it is as follows:
Start at Armboth car park 305 170
up past fishercrag Plantation up to Armboth fell (479m) 296 159
over to High Tove (515m) 289 165
across the Pewitts and up to the highest point of the route of High seat (608m) 287 180
across to Bleaberry Fell (590m) 286 195
then about face and head back to High Seat just before you start to climb back up head South East across the open fell side and come out at a ladderstile 299 183
i then turned left along a track and at 301 189 turned right and took in the fell of Raven Crag (461m) 303 187 a fantastic view of Thirlmere opened up
about face and down to 307 192 back along the side of the lake to car park
I know its not a high level route but with winter in mind i feel it will be a great route for the folk amongst you who like numbers about 8 mile with 722 m (2368 feet)
i put this to you for your approval
There is again a walk on the Friday and meet Friday night for beer
The official start time for Saturday is 11-11.30 am the 17th December
For the ones who this is new to it is an xmas Pi$$up to be honest we meet on the sat run go for an Indian on the Sat night get drunk go dancing and wish each other merry xmas
Thank you, I won't loose it again.
To what extent is it rideable Amex? Either on a crosser or even a MTB?
If not, I shall be walking... currently trying to decide if I am going to have my knee cut open on monday or if I am going to leave it as is... I can ride and race, it even survived 3 Peaks CX relatively unscathed, but I can't run... especially not downhill... There are no guarantees that I will be able to run afgter the op to tidy the cartilege, but the consultant thinks it will be as good as new again... Decisions decisions... I would quite like to have a cyclocross season this winter and not be laid up yet again for several months getting fat and unfit and having to regain fitness all over again at some point next year... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Han i have no experience of this past time you call rideable??
The route is renowned for being the wettest part of the lakes, a bit is open fell as well
Shall we just go pub drink beer and say we rode it it??
The only decision you need to worry about is how many poppadoms you will order 2- 3 or even 4!
I want 4 poppadoms... possibly even 5 ;)
Pub drink beer and say we rode it seems like the way forward to me ;)
Well I've finally booked myself a couple of nights at Denton House so I'm now definitely a definite!
Travelling up from Worsley about 4ish on the Friday if anyone wants a lift.
Oi Fleeter, have you booked me a room at denton house yet??? We need to get seriously wankered and steal Johns food again
Having read through the last couple of pages of this thread it appears that this weekend is just a piss up and not the elite training weekend I thought it was...
far more interesting now
Elite it is, yes, but training? Some of us can't even run! ;)
There is much training put into XOTF....I have just had an intense freshers as prep for these antics
I've started training too. I had a pint of Snecklifter on Wednesday night :closed:
Ahhh, Sneklifter... must get some and start training! ;)
Although not attending I will get into the spirit of things by training with a bottle of Pio Cesare Barolo this evening
I am thinking about a couple of hours or so of mountainbiking on the Friday afternoon, for those who can ride, but can't run, like Turbo Tom and I... Great Uncle Bulgaria may be interested as well? Anyone else up for it?
We could either go to Whinlatter trail centre, where the lovely lads at Cyclewise hire out mountainbikes, or we could maybe appeal to Great Uncle Bulgaria to guide us into the wilds somewhere? :)
Let me know what you all think and lets make a little list :)
