5 mile steady recovery run to shake the stiffness out from the HPM. no aches and pains at all.
Good going to be running Ok so soon. Well done on the HPM, Rob loved it. Gutted to have missed it, it was a hard call to make, I'd have probably been OK, but didn't want to take the risk. Even today got elbowed (accidentally I should add :-)) in a race and it didn't half hurt.
5 mile road race today. Felt a bit tired but OK. One more road race next weekend then back fell racing I reckon.
Yesterday did 18miles on undulating roads and bridal ways around Sunderland, at least half of it into a crazy wind when some gusts actually knocked me backwards, still worked hard with wind behind me and when in shelter and averaged just 1/2 min over mara pace so pleased. However the final 1.5 miles or so was directly into the wind again and was a horrible experience!
Today was meant to be an easy 10 but turned into a comfy 12.5miles, slight breeze but nothing like yesterday meant I felt heavy but ended up at same pace as it was so much easier.
A good hard weekend, now easing off for a week.

Leg 1 and 2 of Mary Towneley Loop  .
5 miles yesterday including 2 miles with my step-son who is trying to get fit for the army. He ran 10.40 for a 1.5mile lap which apparently is good enough to get him in.
I ran the same lap in 10.09 after 3 miles on the hills. Couldnt resist waving my stopwatch under his nose and pointing out that i was 3 stone heavier than him..........imagine what time i might have made if i had run it fresh young man?
He went sulking in his room.#
Thats two family members ive upset this weekend!
Your such an Arse:D
5 miles easy
Three miles of tarmac slapping fun,
It was my first run in 2 full weeks, the knee felt fine it was well strapped with my big blue neoprene spacker strap.
I now have a bag of frozen peas bandaged to it, hopefully all will be well in the morning, please please please.
I really struggled with this run, I even stopped for a breather at ever junction that a car was turning into.
The fells seem such a long way away at the minute.
Well done mate.:)
You'll be back into it in no time.
6 mile, 1000ft night road race, the last in the winter season. pulled out all the stops and only faded 100m from the finish running up the 1:5 road to finish second. snow at the end.
Cheers Baz,
When I saw you replying I expected something so much worse from you. I guess you feel my pain too eh, or have you dished out enough for one day. with the son and your stop watch.
I have not forgot our night out Im working on dates for it.

Jamie

Eating lots of porridge and sitting on my backside recovering from 12 miles over Top of Leach, Knowl Hill, Whittle Pike and Cowpe Lowe yesterday, see my blog for route.
Ran from Grand Beach hotel in Tel Aviv down the coast to Old Jaffa and back this morning. Part cycle path, part beach. 20degreesC+ even at 6.30a.m. and a beautiful morning to be out running. No curlews, dippers or grouse to report but I think AlanT would approve of the local women on the beach - they're gorgeous!
Nothing so exotic here! :(
1 hour's run including 2 x 500ft climbs to get those quads working!
40 minutes mincing round at a fitball class.
It made my legs feel totally healed (deniggleified) after Sunday's long run :) .
8.1 miles on the road inc 6x1200s
65 miles/3300' on the bike out to the coast and back over Harris end. No sign of any severe weather, bit of drizzle but that was all. If I would have believed the forecast I would have stayed in bed!! Maybe we'll have a storm in the morning just as I approach Ingleborough summit?
8.5 miles ( I think as its a new route) on the road. Hate the tarmac buts its all I have right now over here. Both my achilles were sore after but plenty of ice around to sooth it after. Enjoyed it actually
4m off road, 2m up, 2m down, felt crap, that's nights for yer:(
4miles hilly road and trail in cold wet rain, BUT IT WASN'T DARK!!! However looking where the rain was coming from looked like the very gates of Mordor.

Bashed out 6 x 4mins off a minute recovery on the grass. Felt aerobically strong for once, but I was having a few problems with my breathing...
A second day of not running for me and think tomorrow will make it three? Had to have a day of work ill today think I have caught the bug our Harry had. Constant visits to the bloody Loo.
11 miles/2200' up Ingleborough from Austwick via Sulber nick and back via Gaping Gill and Long Lane. Fairly windy but not extreme, had expected to employ crawling tactics on the summit but it was quite stand upable (ish).
Bit of a skyline recce checking short cuts....
13 km and 390m. Ran slowly to save the legs for Saturday
Aye, can I second that? Can't you do something with computers? :p
Moi, just an hour....steady....
4m hilly road and trail. Easing back this week and finally feeling good after several days of bed at 9, aching and snuffling. Not running isnt good for you!
Jason
22 Miles today around Broadbottom, Hyde, Denton and Audenshaw, very tired now, hope i recover quicker than the last 21 miler !! :)
Intense 30 minute gym workout!
I actually hate gyms.
We all sweat like paedophiles at nurseries and the view of the bricks on the wall in front of the rowing machine isn't a bit interesting.
Why Why Why!!!!
Elidir Fawr Fell Race route, 6 miles, 850 m ascent, in 70 minutes. Hard run up and then slow along the tops due to rock, awful weather strong winds.
Rest day today, then Rhayader 20 on Saturday.
