30 miles for me tonight
Home-Brindle-Wheelton-Chorley-Limbrick-Rivington-Anglezarke-White Coppice-Wheelton-Higher Wheelton-Brinscall-Withnell-Abbey Village-Riley Green-Hoghton-Samlesbury-Hoghton-Home.
Cracking route with lots of climbs to give me legs a good work out.
Really enjoyed it and love my bike even more.
Growing in confidence on the downs and fast corners but still sh*t myself every once in a while.:o
Pretty rubbish time at 1:50 but its my version of a mountain stage of the
giro d'italia.:D
Nearly hit the deck on one ridiculously steep climb leaving anglezarke, i didnt get into the bottom gear quick enough and had to power the pedals to keep moving, i somehow did a huge wheelie and with the gradient of the hill i started to roll backwards on the back wheel....somehow managed to save it and stay upright...had to shoulder barge a fence to point myself in the right direction.;)
Crackin ride!:D
Ive been on abike for the first time in 2 months or so. Only 11 miles but very enjoyable with a burger stop halfway round
Managed work & back just under 20 each way. 65mins there, 75 back.
Doc said no running so I need to get more biking in.
about to do the "Golden Valley Brevet" from Brecon, and slightly relieved I never entered the Dragon Ride which is also today. Not sure what distance to attempt - 100km, 160 or 200km. Actually I'm totally sure I don't want to do 200! Never cycled more than about 50 miles before...
How did your time trial go Hanneke? Any carrot on the shoes?
and I wish I knew what a "brevet" was!
Just a steady 9 mile loop with son on our road bikes:)
Good quality time together:)
It's more or less the same as an Audax with subtle differences in the way the ride is ridden (contolled v free (historically)). More commonly in the UK we seem to have 'sportives' which are sort of competative distance rides. There are some lovely French terms in respect to cycling that don't get translated across to English which makes for some confusion with cycling newbies.
