This must be the best Premier League season ever? Arsenal/Man City/Chelsea in the running with Liverpool/Everton/Man United/Tottenham capable of taking points off them. I just hope it stays this close to the end of the season.

Definitely not safe for work
Keep the faith... Let others lose their heads
Alf, did you see that ex Morecambe and Dale lad, Dave Perkins was released by Barnsley last Thursday and snapped up by Blackpool on Friday? Must be a result for the lad leaving the bottom team for a mid table side and closer to home as well.
I remember a match down south a few years ago when the home fans were chanting 'there's only one Jimmy Saville' because of his blond locks, don't suppose that chant would be considered appropriate now would it:D
Coming soon Danbert ;)

Good to see the old sob story about the European ban stopping Everton winning the European Cup is still going strong after all these years. I think you might be re writing history mate with the 'Everton had a great team in the eighties' statement. They briefly emerged from Liverpool's shadow, had a couple of good seasons only for the pressure to get to Howard Kendall, he legged it and it all went downhill quick style. They have rarely needed the key to their trophy cabinet since.
that's a bit harsh Richard. Mid eighties they had great team until Kevin Radcliffe got injured. Had they been able to play in Europe I'm sure they would have done well. The ban was harsh on the English clubs, I think it was because the English clubs were dominating Europe at that time. I bet the call for the ban was loudest from that shower real Madrid, who were worried your lot would pass them in European cups and I wouldn't have been surprised if they did. Strange the national team wasn't banned, probably because they were shit. They never banned the Dutch....a scary place to go at that time.
I seem to remember that the FA egged on by footballer hater Thatcher did UEFA's dirty work by withdrawing English clubs so all UEFA had to do was confirm the ban.
As you say it seems odd that the national team wasn't banned despite England fans causing mayhem all over Europe and this continued with riots in Dublin in 95 and at Euro 2000
Lucas out for 2 months... big loss, they missed him last time, reliant on an ageing Gerrard now...
David Moyes has promised fans of Man Utd that they will be in a major European competition next year...
....even if he has to write the song himself.
Stolen from James Adams.
But we're a laughing stock.
The situation we're in is dire and it's all of our own making. Mata in would be the first step to recovery.
The next? Sack Moyes. It's just not working. And i'd also get rid of Woodward because his inexperience helped sink Moyes, weeks into his new job. Everyone sort of knew that Moyes was dead on September 2 when they stumbled into carrington with a injured fellaini for £27m
Fook me! My generation gets a lot of stick for being a Utd fan (despite it being the closest ground) but I never thought it would be the old boys that would be first to desert the ship at the first sign of trouble.
Thats what I'm finding so incredible.. proper lesson learnt.. many in 1989 were calling for Fergie's head.. now 22 games in and some, not many, are also jumping up and down...
Mata's a class player. He'll make us more of a threat, we've lost creativity. I still think we need a centre half and centre mid.. but would like Powell to be called back..
There's talk of Dante, I've quite liked him when I've seen Bayern.
Zaha is strange, now reserve for the reserves..
Saw Bebe scored in Portugal, a screamer, though when you watch it closely it looks like he shanked it and was just a lucky swing..
and there's no chance we'd spend 30 mill on Mata and then sack Moyes... that would be a cityesque joke...
So Everton angry at Manu tapping up Moyes...

Big clubs go to smaller clubs..
Everton fans refuted this.. now:

the last laugh could be on those laughing now. More money wiped off the value of the club and the less money the ugly yanks make could make them piss off and sell up. Then we'd be ripe for a human rights abuser, woman hating, homophobe rich Muslim prince take over and things could look a lot different.
Why? Chelsea paid 23? million for a 23 year old, unproven in the EPL.. small flighty player..
He came over, chelseas best player 2 years running.
So He's worth more than that now.
And regarding Jose not liking him so there is something wrong, well he's not liked a fair few. Look at Lukaku?
I think he'll be a good signing. I think he's also a statement by the Glazers, Moyes and Woodward, and its not our weakest part. But we just simply have not scored enough. I've been to a few games and we've been fairly good until 20 yards out, then nothing.. he gives us that creativity.
I didn't say he was rubbish. Chelsea want nearer £40,000,000 and I think its too much concidering they want Rooney for £25,000,000.
The real problem for me is he isn't the sort of player we need at this difficult time. We need a ball winner like Keane or captain marvel.
I'd still have him if they are prepared to bring more in and not just him. Least it would stop the moaning but can't see it happening.
We've been trying to replace Keane since Keane left. Players of his and Robson's calibre are extremely few and far between.
I do agree with you but the worst thing we can do is try and get a clone of Keane because he just won't be as good. We need to modify the way of playing.
Just score Sunderland please. City must be sat at home booking their post Wembley party. :(
