 Don't they do em in pink.
Black and white would be just like a pint of Guinness:thumbup:

Where were you going and trying to get too? You don't need to ride through the city centre!!! I'd go for a ride this half term week with you Al but with no helmet or shoes it could be a bit tricky - could always use my daughters milly, molly, mandy one I guess?!!!
That Hercules has a lot of white on it Emmi, you'll be spending as much time cleaning it as riding it....but it would be worth the hassle  . What kit did they gety away with  ?
Normally I'd find questions about price quite vulgar :D .
I've been looking for a bike for a few months & found this one in the Bikeradar classifieds. It was being sold by a young student in Birmingham, I'd checked his postings & made sure he had receipts as I obviously didn't want a nicked bike. Bearing in mind it's 2009 bike, it was originally sold for £3800, he bought it in June for £2700, wanted £1500 for it & accepted £1300. I felt a bit bad on my way to collect it, but when I met him I & saw the gadgets he had in his digs I felt that he was in a position to take the financial hit. It's in mint condition, I even had had to clean that thick lube they put on new chains.
Don't think I'll be taking it out until July 2011  .
I have the cervelo test team training jersey. But its mainly black with bits of white and red...so not really ideal for riding in the dark.
I'll google santini. Cheers!
I wasnt really aiming to get any where. I just fancied riding with street lights rather than the pitch black (to avoid potholes). I headed through bamber bridge, through lostock hall and inevitably penwortham. I could either have backtracked once I'd past the turn in for your estate or carry on through preston.
I canni ride during the half term myself, I dont have a day off until 6th Nov.
Ah, you've reminded me.....is Preston College open next week? I have to enrol on an evening school! Oh joy!
Hey well done
Bargain. Why feel bad its a buyers market for sure. There will be lots of good bikes out there coming up.
I cant believe he purchased a bike like that and had not ridden it hardly.
Enjoy it mate.
Id have ridden it the day I got it back, get out theres
you did get a bargain, it's lovely!
errr running/camping kit the list is sadly too extensive to list and to depressing to be reminded of. Bike kit that went was helmet, shoes, over shoes, arm and leg warmers and my cape and jacket.
Shoes are the priority then I can at least ride it again!
Feckers.
C'mon, Emmi, Dazz et al; now that I have the bike of my dreams ( Planet X Ti Sportive + Ultegra 3x10 groupset ), please name me a really good track pump with accurate pressure gauge, for getting the Conti Gatorskins rock solid, pre-ride. I have a compact TopPeak Road Morph for faffing with roadside emergencies, but want something quick and accurate for home use.
Ian.
Heres a proper hard cyclist for you - Im sure some of you will have seen it before.
Jens Voigt
My new white cervelo jersey arrived today....so once my tea has digested...im going to head up the road my my local hill and beast myself a few times to snot out my new cold.
Hey Al, Jens is my favourite cyclist, a reet character, grafter and all round nice bloke, don't upset him though, av a good un:wink:
There's bike handling and there's this....wouldn't want to try it on a nice carbon bike though!!

Big Jens gets a name-check in this;

Very funny, just don't open if there are kids in the room.
Fair point! But the guy who did it on the carbon road bike on the link I posted ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z1fS...eature=related ) had a normal height saddle, which would surely cause a fella serious problems if those tricks went wrong!!
Al jeans voight is prob the most repected member of the peloton. I'd say he will retire next year. He's been pulling on the front for a long long time now.
He had some good wins with the professor as far back as 1999
Last night. 30 odd miles to spin class. Then a double spin class with ten miles in between classes, didn't get off the spin bike. So prob about 70 miles in class. Then 12 miles home.
Collapsed in the house suffering hunger knock.
Blimey Dazzler, all that for the lure of lycra:eek:
Reckon I will have to try the double spin show tomoz!!!
Jeez!
I rode for you last night daz.
Some people have lance as their motive...I have a guy called Darren Holloway who I ride to the death for.
Well...after spending about 1hr30 watching all the cervelo videos on youtube whilst my tea digest...I decided I was going to ride hard!
I didnt go far, and I didnt really know where I was going.
I decided to get the ribble out, and fly round a 6 mile loop I have, with a few short sharp climbs and a couple of fast descents to get some speed up. The roads were soaked so I was abit cautious on a few bends...but I gave it everything I had.
I had a head wind for half of it and my legs were dying...but I managed to do the 6 miles in just over 17 minutes.
I then headed onwards up my local steep hill, crying out for for a lower lowest gear...I was literally shouting trying to get up this hill - thankfully there was only a few sheep about to hear me in the darkness.
The hill finished my off, and destroyed my average speed for the ride.
10.84 miles in 32:47 - ave 19.8
I managed to average 21.1 for the 6 miles route.
Doesnt sound very good on paper...but I gave it absolutely everything and I dont think Ive ever riden as hard....I even threw up in my mouth climbing the hill...which was nice!
Just a teensy weensy bit too much information there. :)
Wow Daz! How do you rate spin classes then? Mind, I think I prefer the velodrome in winter... better training?
After a good month off the bike and two weeks of also no running, I am going to get back on tomorrow... track, 3 hours but I may not last that long :-O and may just try my hand at some cyclocross on Sunday, which would be my first cross race, apart from 3 peaks... any tips?
Went out on Wednesday - 92 miles, picked up mate in Stockport then all back lanes past Birtles etc - destination Mow Cop:w00t:
Managed to keep going to just to the pub where it gets ridiculous (1:4)!! My 34/25 was too much with my level of fitness so the ignominy of coming to a halt and not being able to de-cleat = calf cramp and falling over. Bike is OK though! That is some serious climb! Decided that I would need something smaller and lose a good few pounds - think that will be my first and last attempt!
Got a thorn in the tyre on the way back, the hedge trimmimg tractors again worked out our route! Lanes were muddy in places, must scrape the mudguards clean again.
Just changed my tyres from Ultremo R.1 (bloody quick tyres) to the Durano for the winter months.
Sticking with Schwalbe because the Durano came with the bike but I had the Ultremo fitted.
Now I need to get my backside on it and do a couple of hours.
Schwalbe's are the thing Stagger :)
To be honest Trevor I never swap mine. Prefer to just go through with my michelin pro racers.
Im hoping to do a big ride on mine on Sunday. Ive ordered some of those fancy new type mudguards after yearsof riding without them.
I will fit them but they may not stay on
