Are we having fancy dress for the saturday run/walk again?
Hope the weather doesn't do what it threatens to for the weekend, possibly very stormy at the moment, may try to meet up for a swift half on Friday night (if any 'locals' are allowed!?). Keswick AC Christmas handicap is on the Sunday, all you need is a recent 10k time and bring a small prize to take a prize. Details on their web site - if I was clever I could have posted a link - a skill I've yet to find.
So who's walking on Saturday? I'm still having a bit of discomfort breathing so no chance of running by Saturday.
Itinerary reminderFriday - get to Keswick (at some point) - go for a WALK (or sommert)Some are cycling?Fishing,Ice Skating,Abseiling the Moot Hall?7pm or maybe 7.30, about 8 really, meet in the pub err the one near that shop selling the Norwegian hats have fun be merry try not to burn out on night 1, there's still night 2 to do.Saturday - meet Amex as per earlier route post about 10 am go for a walk/run/shuffle/hop/skip and a...never mind.7pm meet in the George for pre curry bevvies - THIS BIT IS THE ONLY CONCRETE RENDEZVOUS, Lateness will be frowned upon - ahem.8pm - curry10pm - pub11pm - the Loft 12pm - DANCE OFF....last man/woman standing
As I have been too crippled to race the last few weeks, the win of Welsh Cross League is now out of my reach as I have plummeted from being 1st to being 3rd... As by Sunday I won't have been on a bike for 3 weeks and I am still not fit enough to race a hard cross final, so I have decided that easing myself gently back into physical activity by going to the Loft with you all seems like a better idea... I am trusting the hospice errrr, hostel will be able to give me a bed for another night :)
Oh and Pilgrim, I will be walking Saturday :) Think Mr Brightside is as well...
If it is very windy though, I will need to attach myself to Amex or I shall be blown away :w00t:
I'm running, Stef will be walking
I seem to have booked Thursday and Friday off and refused the offer of large amounts of cash to work at the weekend...
Best get somewhere to stay booked!
The map is free, nav services will be charged at 1 Godfather/mile, Snecklifter will not be considered as currency [yuk].
Haven't decided yet, the car is busting my balls, i might do a shorty in the lakes friday and walk saturday...couldn't say right now.
Everyone have a great time and look after Amex, him and the Mrs. have more breaks between them than an American sports channel!
Enjoy yourselves:thumbup:
Das wetter...
Friday
Another bright day with a few wintry showers. The showers
will be heavy at times, with the best of the drier
brighter conditions across southern ranges. Strong
Northeast winds will give considerable buffeting while
surface conditions remain treacherous underfoot in
places.
Saturday
Wintry showers will continue at first before becoming
isolated as the day progresses with the best of the
brightness later. Fresh to strong northwest winds.
Sunday
A bright day with most places staying dry, although a few
wintry showers may affect the western fells. Fresh
northwest winds.
it is with extream sadness that i have to report---- that Mrs Amex after her fall while out running Sunday now has to be admitted for her hand to be pinned and screwed she is booked into hospital first thing Thursday morn, therefore it puts into jepordy my attendance at this event on Friday.
i will keep you informed
x
Thrush hmmmmmm
says a lot really.
So KK are you picking up the gauntlet and making an appearance at the XOTF? Where all your new found friends are waiting to meet you, it is in your neck of the woods.
Ne'er mind K_K; is Lola coming this year? :w00t:
Since the forecast looks okay I'm gonna drive up tomorrow. Sorry environment, but it's the stupid train fares, more than double the cost than to drive up with just me in the car. Anyone near the A1 south of Scotch Corner is welcome to a lift. No idea what I'm going to do yet tomorrow, other than get to the pub in the evening the day is planfree for now.
I broke my little toe last weekend but going with with "it's only a teeny little bone, how much of a problem can it be running" approach. I'm supposed to ice it so I think the weather on the fells might suit anyway :)
I'm heading up in the morning but doubt that I'll make it up there too early - still several strands of unfinished work to do - so will probably have a wander up Skiddaw or somewhere Friday and catch you all in the Pub later.
''it is in your neck of the woods'' I hope not......it would never do to have such an entity actually existing here!
Garage still has my car. My wrist is giving me grief so i gave it to the MOT garage to sort out; it was only a brake master cylinder, i should've taken the aggro and done it myself. If they come up with a yarn tommorrow i won't be at XOTF this year. BTW, assuming i make it where is this pub by the shop with the daft hats where we're meeting on friday? Same as last year's friday meet?
Yup. The Dog and Gun
I am assuming it is the dog and something, like last year... B*gger, walked past it earlier, ah Dog & Gun...
Drove up happily today, nice and sunny... now we seem to have a severe weather warning :-O Ah well, I get to drink all the Skelifter if you guys don't make it...
Bikeride on for tomorrow morning, if there are any takers and we don't get snowed in tonight :)
See you all tomorrow or Saturday :)
