I've had it all day Tupster. Apparently we're a one trick pony, they destroyed us and now everyone else will, we've just surrendered the title and won't win anything this year.
I pointed out that we were still top by 2 points, but apparently it doesn't matter as they will go unbeaten now until the and of the season whilst we fall away into the top 4 battle. Personally, I woulnd't fancy claiming that if we had a defence comprising of an elderly Scooby Doo double who only plays if he gets enough likes on twitter to warrant getting up, and Johnny Evans (no comedic comparisons needed there, Johnny himself is comedy gold).
It is at times like these that we will do well to remember whom we are dealing with. Rags. The same bunch who ran screaming from their own ground when their own team needed them most, who then fell out of the Champions League and have classed the Europa League as beneath them and worthless (obviously not as it turns out), and who have now become addicted to watching us and sweating over what we do, who starts for us, whether Balotelli or Aguero is in good form, is Kompany injured, and who have City got next?
Best of all, they seem flustered that I'm not upset about last night and not panicking. Neither were the other blues at work. I enjoyed the game overall, despite the loss. I enjoyed our first half football. I know full well that we were only a couple of decisions away from 3 points last night. I am confident we will do well when Chelsea come to our place in the return fixture, as am I when Arsenal come to us this weekend.
Well, we'll hammer QPR and go top, they say. Oh, really? Well, good for you, if only things were so simple then I'd fart diamonds. I don't really care that much about United right now, we don't play them until next month. If we get a result against Arsenal we are still top, so that's where I will be focusing. :p

We are difficult to beat, strong all over the pitch, and have goals in the team every time we attack. If we can go on another 14 match unbeaten run, we could have 1 hand on the title. We are the only team left competing on 4 fronts. We are the leagues top scorers, have one of the best defences in the league. It was like watching Barcelona for 25 mins last night, yes, this is City........
Bits above are why I'm a worried Gooner. Not looking forward to the weekend. But am happy that you weren't invincible!! Didn't see the match but when I watch man City attack they are damned good, credit where credit is due BUT I hope that you have a 2 match blip and give us a chance.... Please?????
Re: Tonight's football thread
i might be wrong here but arent Manchester Utd the only team with Manchester in their name to win the premiership?

I'd say you're way off beam DT. Man U look shaky in midfield and in defense and although they've won 5 of their last 6 premiership games if you discount the 4-1 win over Wolves, they've had 4 spoggy 1 nil wins against Everton, Sunderland, Swansea and Aston Villa. The top 6 teams can all beat each other on their day so I think its set up really well with all to play for. I reckon Arsenal will come out of nowhere and win it at the finsh :)
Mind you, despite all of that, I've never been more disillusioned with football than now. Too much bad refereeing, play acting, moaning and arguing. They urgently need to bring in goal line technology and penalise players properly for disputing/arguing about decisons. There should maybe be a 10 minute sin bin penalty for yellow cards in certain circumstances and bringing forward of free kicks by ten meters if there's too much back chat and play acting going on. They should sort out the offside rule, have a proper game clock that stops and starts with stoppages in play and completely do away with loan deals. They should.............. (I could go on :) )
Re: Tonight's football thread
Man Utd have won six or seven Premierships with 'spoggy' 1-0 wins. It's the sign of a good side; playing badly and still winning (*cliche alert*!)
I got nearly interested in football again after Derby had a good start to this season and thought for a few minutes about going to see them at Barnsley in the autumn (last match I went to was Preston at home c year 2000) but because we have fallen back to mid-table mediocrity I can go back to my usual level of interest i.e. having a mild dig at dear old Danbert every now and again
If Arsenal win the league I will run round the Three Peaks bare-arsed! :closed:

That alone has doubled (the admittedly slim) chances of Arsenal winning :)
