Re: stuarts snowdon record goi
Used speed x 2s last year and went over me ankle a couple of times. Ok on the day but did something bad and did more damage a few weeks after. I don't use them any more Size 8 if you want them Dylan ;-) I just do everything in my mudclaws now but I know what you mean about the road section.
I'm looking forward to it now too...

Thanks John - but im a small fella with big feet...9.5 :-)
im getting paranoid about falling over my ankle now :-)
ive ran for the past 18months with the SC2 and only gone over once and that was my own stupid fault..so it's like anything - (going back to the original question) - go with whats best for you...the facts are there....road/tarmac for 2 miles then 8 miles of fun on rocky surface - some "new" slippy smooth rock on "Allt Moses"...again will check - but there's actually some grass section (off Allt Moses) that most runners use on the way down...but will check if this is still allowed this year..
I think the Grand Prix idea is best - we can then slow down the front runners who made bad "fell shoes" decisions!!
Some people swear by Inov8 XXX other's by Inov8 XXXXX and other Solomon XXX - its what's best for you.
* Please note:- i dont have any sponsorship deals with Solomon * :-)

Yep all of this...plus wonder if they've cleaned the Guinness Pipes in the Vic...will the pasta meal be soggy..
Its interesting to see the discussion on the shoes...Ive always ran with my Solomon Speed Cross2's on Snowdon..they have the required grip...some might say too grippy...but I feel comfortable in them and thats the important thing for me...Ive ran the road section with the Mudclaw's and had a horrible run (remember this is 2 miles of the race).
I'll ask the organisers later about the vests/number and post back..
look forward to the race now :-) Lets hope the weather dosnt spoil it.
Cheers Dyl,
sorry i didnt get to chat with you at Siabod after the race, but i had to shoot off ,chores etc.
re shoe:i dont know how you can race with the speed cross 2 ? they feel so unstable.ive got a pair and only use them for training.hourse for courses i guess.
good luck to all of you running on saturnday,i`ll be on the course some were cheering you on

There's thread about barefoot running somewhere - like to see someone run barefoot in this race!

S4/C is doing an hour long programme about this year's race at 8.00pm on Sunday. For those of us who don't live in Wales, I'm hoping they'll have it on their 'clic' service (which is like iPlayer) at:
http://tywydd.s4c.co.uk/clic/e_index.shtml
The trailer for the programme is at:

Re: stuarts snowdon record goi
Good luck to eveybody doing this race, I did it back in the 80s and managed 1.17 in what I considered one of my best races so still 14 mins off Kenny's pace who's record I don't think will be beaten, it's a bit like John Wildes' Wrekin record.......almost unbelievable and set over 20 years ago. I'm not running tomorrow but I'm going to camp tonight in Llanberis and have a jog up Snowdon tomorrow morning with my dog and then watch the race. what time does the race start?
