Ive done it and im sure it could be quicker if the correct line is used

I know its do-able, it is the time factor and the 17 previous miles that need consideration.;)

It kind of looks tempting when you stand and look back at Grindslow from RR as it feels like a long way round the skyline, but it's also a bleeding long way down (and up!) It'd take some bottle to do it on race day - I didn't even want to try it during a nice pleasant day out recceing. :o

another thing to consider is what you will have left in your legs for the rocky descent to the finish. I think my would be somewhere between jelly and cramp!

err the sight of Geoff B 50 yds behind me soon got me down the rocky descent.
