Two MTB's cycling in the snow this morning by the theatre, was this part of the XOTF early raiding party?
As head cock of XOTF
I can with great pleasure announce that the
2011 XMAS ON THE FELLS is officially open,
may i remind you all that as always what happens on tour stays on tour, may you all not remember a thing about this weekend!
Sir, I salute you!
Is it a bit early for a Sneckie? :closed:
Yes DT - get out in that snow for a bit and earn your Snecklifter :w00t:
I am very sad I can't make it this year, what with working almost all my waking hours and shuffling between temporary abodes for the rest of them.
Have a fab time one and all, I will try to manage a Snecklifter on Saturday in your honour
Due to being quite hungover i shall be driving up this afternoon now,see you all in the pub!
Mr Brightside
This will not do and is not in the spirit of XOTF i will gladly give you a lift up because as of now i am attending; Mrs Amex's words were get the feck out and run you have to! hmmmm what can i say apart from see you all in Armboth carp park 10.30am.
"Regardless of his reduction operation, fleeter is my love child"
Is the code word for this year to get a fantastic discount at the loft
Leaving for the snowbound north now...
Heading up from Manchester now. :)
Have fun today out on the hill. We'll see you at 7pm in the George
Check out that fine bodywork...

Thats better Dom.
Did they build a snowman?
Well thank you everyone for good night in Keswick last night! :)
It was nice to meet up with so many fell runners.....I hope you all had a good time and for those that made it to the Loft I hope you had fun and that there was plenty of dancing...especially from "nee bother"
Good do  I reckon with a bit more practise Fleeter might just have had the beating of SteveS on the dancefloor :closed:
I'm feeling the wrath, finished off last night's session with a talk on the big white telephone back at the B&B, i'm never drinking again  Anyone know where Amex got to last night?
Keep the photos coming!
Allegedly, Amex got refused entry to the Loft...
Oh and I am back home now...
Good MTB ride today at Grizedale, by far not as much snow down South, but a little bit of ice here and there. Nothing too treacherous though... But I was feeling decidedly fragile during the first half of the ride... :o and the screaming quads made an apperance too  Those few bits of downhill running I did on Saturday must have killed them! :w00t:
Anyways, BRILLIANT weekend everyone! Let's do it again next year
That's your own fault for not sticking with the tradition of xotf not actually involving any running :)
Amazing weather and condtions up on Skiddaw today, nice dry snow, nothing like the horrible stuff on Saturday. Quite a few skiers/boarders about. Plus a couple of mountain bikers.
Great weekend as always, cheers Amex for getting us all together again :) Roll on next year!
Had a great time and nice to meet so many people and put faces to names. :) Are we going to have the group photo posted here? Unfortunately I left my phone in the hostel in the morning; so have no photos of the main event.
Good question Pilgrim :) Think Nee is the only one who got a group photo in the end? I will put mine somewhere on 't internet tonight and let you have a link here :)
Nee is sat in a corner dressed as Santa with that Photo blown up to life size and is now praying to the new Jeremy Clarkson of the fell running world the one the only Mr Bright(ihavethecoolestcarintheworld)side
He is my new hero!
Hi all you ballbags
That was cold
I will for next year have two routes one above snow line one below as sinking up to my tads was no fun at all.
Hope you all enjoyed it
Good to meet a few of you on Friday night - glad to see the world famous Goulash can still defeat folk, go for a really small portion next year Fleeter - sorry to be away for the rest of the weekend.
So when is next year's event? :closed:
Amex my lovely, can we open the thread please?
Where will we run? Bike? Abseil? Go fishing, charm worms? Go sledgeing? I know where we will be drinking and dancing and eating!
I need something to look forward to...
It doesn't need organising, we are perfectly happy in disorganised state... it just needs Amex to find us a nice route :)
I will happily throw together another challenging, but deeply rewarding, MTB experience for those souls with the ongoing determination to see things through to a successful finale. Last year was quite exceptional as repeat would be life changing!
Last year's route was well tough. I remember the master saying something like The Pewits was well known as the boggiest swampfest in all of The Lakes. I remember crawling accross the ice on all fours so as not to go plunging into 3 feet of boggy water at 0.1 deg.C.
