Friday. Llanberis to Bwlch Main ( a bit dodgy underfoot),over hils to Moel Elio and down to Llanberis. Up through quarries to Elidirs, Mymydd perfedd, Foel goch and down to Nant Peris. Today. beddgelert to hebog and then PBR to pont C and run road back into gelert.
Quick nip round the pendle cloughs route in 2h45 this morning.
Windy day.
8 miles over road, farm tracks and fields in 51:47. Beautiful day for a run.
Not run a fast race for a while so wanted to test the legs. Ran up Cut gate and back flat out.
I had the crazy idea of breaking the one hour mark and used this as motivation for the pain:o
2/3rds up I was well on schedule but then I hit the snow line and this really slowed me up bashing through heavy wet snow and going through regularly including a cut knee(ice). reached the cairn in 33.29 minutes (15 secs off a pb:eek:) Turned round and elected to run through the deep heather rather than the snow but this was also slow, from Bull clough I was flying and loving it. Sprinted up the two steep sections and pushed hard to the gate.
7.8 miles 1100ft in 1.02.21 which is close to my PB:D can't wait for the snow to go and the one hour with it.:D
First proper training run since 2009 today, 4.5m flattish trot taking in old man Devonshire's Rocking Moor (no offence your lordship:D).
Dead reckon from Dukes Lane off Hoodstorth Lane to pick up a keeper's trod to Rocking Hall, an isolated shooting lodge with a fantastic carved head over the main entrance. Either side of ornate the main entrance were two beater's cubby holes with one bench, a row of coat hooks, a fireplace and no door! A fantastic example of the class divide if ever i saw one. Picked up the return route down the side of West End Reservoir after following some shooting butts to the hairpins at the Washburn Bridge.
Afternoon tea at Buffers, i now know what a 20T brake wagon looks like
Sorry, forgot this is the 'Training' thread...:o
Slow week last week
3 miles sunday (started to do 10 but had to give up - knackered from a poor Pendle)
off monday
7 miles club road run tues
6 or so miles off road headtorch run - wed
off thurs/fri cos of Hobble and lack of preparation.
32m sat hobblihike
10k Keighley road race 42.48 sunday, only about a minute behind the main Keighley pack so quite happy with that considering the day before and how broken I was at the end of the hike.
Hopefully will pick it up ready for the peaks now
