Yesterday was 2km on the treadie quick (well for me:o ) followed by an hour of leg strengthening, glutes etc, core stability, and abs work - bloomin aching this morning felt like my hamstrings were going to snap
So, off to the gym this morning for a 1km warm up (on the track) then 5 x 100m recovery, 100m sprint, 90 second rest then off again for 3 sets in total followed by a quick 1km straight to finish. 5km on the recumbant (sp?) bike on level 10 rpm staying over 80 - ouch:eek: then more core stability...............off for a lie down:rolleyes:
I will get fit!!!:D
Pendle race route for me today with calves feeling fresh as a result of my new stretching program. A dusting of snow/ice on the side of Pendle gave cold hands on the steep climb up to the trig and then a thigh deep wash off in the river at Barley to cool things down even more!
7 miles of reps. First three in 5:17 average. Next 3 run as 5x3minute efforts with 90 secs recovery, managed 5:18.
Was running these well within myself as I believe doing flat out efforts when tired easily leads to injury. So am very happy to have achieved best average pace this year (as well as fastest single mile time)
Spent the morning training around Winter hill, did around seven miles steady pace. I also completed an hour of sneaky hill reps at work in the stairwell!! (7 floors):)
Just a very steady 5miles, 7mins slower than previous best - if only you could improve as quickley as you lose strength during illness, we'd all be world beaters!!
Anyway lets hope its an uninterupted road to recovery.
I have done 400,800,1500,800,400 and then a 400 relay cause i was coaching my group
just under 8 miles for my run round cheetham close.
set out to have an easy one but found myself tired and couldn't understand why!
Only when I got back 2 mins quicker than I have ever done the route before!:D
Am thinking about 16 slow (properly) on the road this afternoon!
10 mins upper bodywork devouring a McDonalds Big Breakfast meal and a McBacon roll "chaser" - yum!
Just recovering from six weeks of the nastiest virus I've had in years so only managed one lap of Albert Park in Melbourne (where they hold the F1 racing) - that's about 5K on the flat.
Going to have to ramp up quickly for the Anniversary Waltz and PPP.
Wish me luck. :)
