Have been testing shoeGoo out on my bare200s, have got a extra 50miles out of them so far, that takes the total to about 170 miles so far, I am determined to wear the studs out before I sling them!!!! perhaps Inov8 would issue new updated versions free of charge to everyone who handed in a fooked pair, I am sure they have enough money!!! I feel like a guinea pig!!! I will get at least 400 miles out of them if its the last thing I do!!!
I'm up to about 235miles in from mine so thats currently 30p per mile, when my old X talons went the way of all old fell shoes they were about 15p per mile so I have a little way to go yet but the way they keep blistering me i may give up. Hoping the sad news of Bradfords finest purveyor of sports wear Sportshoes closing in July may yield some fine bargains.
Has anyone actually sent a pair back to Inov-8 mine have 140 miles in them and only 4 months old surely that warrants a return and replacement??
I had two pairs of the original baregrips and both of them died after very little use although Inov-8 were very good about providing replacements.
I've recently acquired a pair of the new blue / yellow version and the material that Inov-8 have used for the upper seems to be much more sturdy and I've had no problems with tearing so far. Review here if anyone is interested
@tallpaul66 Maybe they will replace your old pair with the new ones? Could be worth a try.....
Inov8 have solved the durability issue of the old bare grip in the new version.
In the new version I got 64 runs in covering 505 miles with no tears on the upper. The black ‘paint’ disappeared quite quick, but the material was fine. This is a big improvement on the old style where I got 39 runs and 302 miles maximum and just over a 100 miles minimum.
If you love the freedom the shoe gives your running then the new version a go.
Anyone know if these are still available? I have a green set which I love (although have only recently started using them again) and I was looking to replace them but can't find them anywhere. Have they been retired?
They're on the Inov-8 web-site and available on Amazon
Yep, pretty sure they're discontinued now.
Interesting thing looking at Inov-8's website, is that in their current range of off-road shoes they have NO zero drop shoes. They do have a zero drop Bare XF but that's classified as a Performance Training shoe, not a Off Road Running shoe.
From a company that used to promote zero drop quite heavily, and have a few models, that's quite a big change.
