stolly i do apologise. you are quite right about the footballers of the 70's and 80's. look how they treated justin fash? (can't spell it). even one of my heros, brian clough treated him disgracefully because he was gay. he ended up killing himself, not because of that but because of an accusation, i don't think the way he was treated by his team mates helped.
by the way i have to confess i have spent a few cosy nights in a tent with a group of balding fell runners.
