just entered this one http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...sed_smiley.gif http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ile_smiley.gif
longest distance I'll've ever done
which will be nice
I feel a couple of recces coming on...
I have entered this one as well Daz, looks to be a nice varied route taking in paths I have not been on in years if at all. That climb up the road to Stanage will be a slog at that stage. I will have to recce it as well but not sure when.
Derby Tup - are there any other tricky bits that need looking at. Any recommendations on the route choices they give?
Seem to remember it was quite straightforward apart from the descent down off Win Hill. One thing that put me off was around 20 dibber points. We (I teamed up with various folk through the day including several forumites) made sure we dibbed everything for fear of not getting a result if we didn't but folk were recorded in the results who missed some. I wrote to D&W saying how much I enjoyed the day but saying I didn't think the dibbers fitted in with the feel of the event. It was very hot last year and carrying some water isn't a bad idea as I remember us all running out toward the end
Feel free not to dib at all the checkpoints it seemed to be optional last year.
See you there. I might even wear a Fell Pony vest....
I don't know why, but I'm thinking about doing this too.
Well I did enjoy it last year despite losing loads of time looking for dibbers (made a good excuse anyway), and probably would have done it this year if it had been the same time, I wish they hadn't put it back but might see if I can do it nearer the time. Is there an entry deadline?
