What is the prefered footwear choice, was planning on trail shoes rather than mud claws as I presume it'll still be solid?

Anyone in the know prepared to offer advice, apart from stay in bed!

I'm sorry folks... I've just spoken to the organiser, Thirza, and she has decided to cancel the race tomorrow.
She doesn't think she or the marshalls will be able to get there since the snow is bad here and a lot more is due overnight, and she reckoned it was better to make the decision now rather than wait until the morning and leave it to late for some people.
The cheques haven't been cashed, so we'll tear them up.

Thats disappointing - but i have to say that the snow is falling quite heavily in Huddersfield

Disappointing but not altogether surprising given the outlook. Tempting though it is to drive over for a run anyway, I think we'll opt for the long lie-in option!
