these runs arent really fell races 3 mile 300ft all fast and runable no real climbs more like xc but quite enjoyable you dont have to be a fell runner to do these. anyone else doing them ??
They feel hard enough though and there's always the extra allure of being thrashed by perky (and talented) twelve year-olds.
Having said that, I'll probably have a go at the first couple of Bunny Runs, though I might not bother in the week leading up to the 3Ps for fear of twisting or straining something anatomically important.
Haven't done a Bunny Run since they moved from the Guide Inn, but the possibility of tasty egg is too tempting to resist.
Will be up there getting beaten by talented youngsters again!!! Went round there on Saturday, was dry enough to run in normal running shoes, only 1 puddle right at start, where you begin the second lap, BUT it's currently raining in Haworth, so it might get interesting.
One aside though, the quarry where it starts / finishes was brilliant for sledging, pure ice in the wheel ruts down with snow in the middle, gentle slope but you got great speed. Then put one foot out at the bottom and did a perfect 180 to come to a stop. Last bit found out by little Biara (aged 6) who thought that was a great game.
Is anyone doing the Bunny Runs, i've not competed in it whats it like.
Great if you like getting beaten by 11year olds at cross-country :p
Joking apart fast and furious fun. Best get a move on anyway or you'll miss the start ;)
