No sympathy from me......been there and got the T-shirt:D
No problem Steve - I also picked up Julien's clothes including his 22 hour old undies - luckily I offloaded those on Sunday morning before too much festering!!
Roll on next weekend.
Well done to all you guys at the weekend, it's bloody hard work in that heat!
Thanks Iain for inviting me along, it was great to meet you and a pleasure to out there with you and the boys on leg 4, big thanks to your 'mrs' and support team for keeping us all fuelled up too, they were superb. Hope to catch up with you all again soon.
Young Ken
Forgot to say 'ta' for the cake off Emmilou......it was canny arlreet like:p
Also good to see that motley crew at Honister (they know who they are):p
A good weekend and well done to Dave Harvey, Andy Green , Julien Minshull and Phil Winskll.
Bad luck to Mark but your time will come mate.
The Pennine crew were magnificent.
Margaret and Dave Jones providing support and organisation along with others.
For our leg
Rob Mitton, Marvin and myself paced Julien and Phil.
Some good points on the leg but it was warm in places.
Certain choice words were said to them both and from Yewbarrow it was decided that push push push was the order of the day.
Id guessed in my mind that 22hrs 40 would be about right and the times between each summit came down exactly to plan.
They both had there bad patches as does everyone but responded well.
Phil probably wont remember what i said to him at he bottom of Gable but as the thunderstorm broke as we reached the summit he perked up and then we were flying.
A big thanks must go to Marvin who started the climb up Dale Head but handed to me at Littletown to sprint them home.
That after fetching and carrying at least 4 litres of water from the spring up Kirk Fell as id taken them up the posts ahead.
Without that water we would have struggled. So for me on that leg the highlight was Andy carrying that water.
So a good day was had
Roll on next year
Phil i think you actually agreed that if we got you round under 22hrs you would give me a hundred quid
haha.
The pennine people are indeed special.
