For anybody who hasn't done this race before, perhaps the pictures HERE will wet your appetite!
Enjoyed this fell race today for the third year running.
After a slump in my running in December last year, this was my first race since the Langdale marathon last September. Having put some weight on over Xmas there was no chance of any PB today so I decided to run with my camera and take some 'in action' race photos of this superb fell race.
Well done to everyone who finished and a special mention to all those involved in organising and marshalling the race.
See the photos here
I was really looking forward to the stunning scenery in this special place however the weather didn't want to play.
That a side what a cracking race, a brilliant runnable climb of varying terrain until that desperate climb to the Nick, a tricky descent then eyeballs out to the finish, I'm glad there was no one catchable on that tina climb because I'd given everything on the run in.
First time i've run this but was very happy with 38th in 1.18.03
Well done to the RO and marshalls AND the MR who were out in force and looked a little Chilly by the Nick, Very well organised and we were well looked after.
Had a chat with Daztheslug and even Amex turned up in his Pink Pony top.
A great race, I'll be back next year.
For got to post these, I hope they are right but it was a hurried scribble whilst they were writing out results
A top class field, sorry didn't take 2nd-3rd womans, can any one else help.
1st Darren Kaye Horwich 1.01.47
2nd Jim Davies Borrowdale 1.01.56
3rd Rob Jebb Bingley 1.02.54
First woman
42nd Karen Robertson NFR 1.18.28
Mostly enjoyed this race. I'd forgotten how intense fellracing is.
Top marks to the RO's today. Every aspect of the day was spot on, from the signing on to the results. Even the weather was ideal IMO - the wind was certainly blowing right way.
Pleased with a finish just outside the top 20.
Brilliant race, great route, interesting weather, thoroughly enjoyable!
Hats off to the Organisers & to the Marshalls, they deserve special praise being out in that today, esp. those on the top!
Will be back next year.
Next stop, Haworth Hobble........
p.s. Full marks to Sinatra for getting the pics on so quickly, excellent.
Brings it all back......
Feeling jealous. Would have loved to do it again but am stuck in work all weekend. Where are the afore mentioned pictures located?
