I have a small supporting role at the Three Peaks this weekend, Handing out jelly babies and coke (cola not cain). Although I think some will prefer the latter by the end.
Does anyone know of a legit cyclable(ish) way up Ingleborough from horton side. I know the bridleway that goes up from Ingleton, but don't know If my little legs can pedal fast enough to get round and up from there before the runners after I've been to Pen Y Ghent.
Hotdog,
I dont know of any cycle routes but im planning on having a run up inglebrough and watching, Ill look out for you. Will you have your cow bell, it has inspired me at both the langdale and at the waltz to date.
Thanks NotOnUrHelly, I think I'm going to have to find a beer that reaches parts......If I'm going to get round to Ingleborough in time. Does anyone know the real ale equivalent of Heineken? Arran Ale usually does the trick, but it's in short supply round here.
The Cowbell will be getting an outing, Looks like this will be a right grueller. I hope I can bring a smile to a few faces so they can forget about how knackered they are for a split second.

4.30 - but what about the scorchio weather??:o
REALLY don't like it hot :( so will be glad to make 4:30!
Looks like its going to be a warm weekend...
the nerves are starting :eek::eek:
metcheck says about 20 degrees for sunday in skipton. I don't think thats too bad to be honest when you are up to 1000 ft or so it will be a bit cooler. Its no where near the 27C I ran my marathon in cyprus. Roll on Sunday. (not looking forward to monday though cycling to work may be fun)
Hi Gromit, are you still out there?
Will you and that young Wallace be at the 3 Peaks this year?
Woof!
I am now officially nervous
I too am officially nervous.
I am officially now too nervous:rolleyes:
Was already to go, then got man flu. Bad ear ache that I had had for a week wouldn't go away, sore throat as well so felt a bit groggy on Saturday morning. (Plus an unexpected 10 pints of Deuchers IPA on Friday night took its revenge as well!!)
All ready for Sunday though..., looks like a warm one, probably warmer than Pendle!
Sorry to be a pain but does anybody know which page the link to Pike's map is on - tried using the search facility & flicked through a few pages but to no avail.

Chesterblue and I are plus 5 non forumites from our club. We're having a vets vs seniors wager, with the winnings coming in the form of post race fry ups from Bernie's in Ingleton.
We've 4 vets and 3 young uns running so it's the best three vets plus the young bucks for the Tattenhall team prize. Current form suggests a close run thing!
Really can't wait - it's a cracking race.
