A few pics of a Fell Pony at the 3 Peaks Cyclocross, would write a report but ain't got time and can't figure out how to do it on the Ponies site:confused:
Let's just say it was a reet good day out with a lot of pain and pleasure:D
Great pics ML very determined look on snap 3, good performance for an auld gadgy like yersel. :)
Check out new avatar its a 40mph Zimmer frame i kid you not, might not get around 3p cyclo on it though :)
Anyone else noticed Fell Ponies thread is one year old today? It's Beefy's Nab race next weekend and I met first Ponies I'd met at the race last year
Well spotted DT, i first spotted the Ponies at the Shepherds Skyline last year and thought what a load of ballbag's (bunch of characters and salt of the earth people) so, naturally i joined. My first impressions were confirmed, they are a bunch of characters, and are the the salt of the earth, but i remain a ballbag:cool:
wow a whole year...
I didn't get my vest til January though (first appearance at Lamb's Longer Leg), but have worn it with pride in a fair few events this year (highlights including Fairfield Horseshoe and Snowdon) - and I've even confused the opposition in the odd road race
Got my vest in December just in time for the Stoop. Worn it with pride at 26 races since. Enjoyed the Fairfield Horseshoe but loved the Duddon Valley.
Highlight of the year's got to be 3P'S Cyclocross as a pony, cos i've waited so long to do it and it was an emotional finish:)
Made my racing debut in Scotland on Sunday at the Bennachie Hill Race 8.3m 1500m. http://www.gariochrr.freeuk.com/
Very enjoyable race and very well organised by the local club. Results were up by 6pm the same day!
Next stop Ben Nevis!!
Crikey, does nothing escape you! I unwisely mentioned what I was doing to my running club coach. He said "I hope you'll be wearing your club vest" and well, it's not that I'm scared of him you understand but well, discretion being the better part of valour. live to fight another day etc etc:o
Normal service will be resumed at Langdale I can assure you

Yeh I understand, I'm a bit like that with my missus.:D
Thought I saw a pair of fine Ponies at Three Tarns today. They fed me gel and Jelly Babies. I may have been hallucinating after a spectacularly inept descent of Bowfell, in which stumbling vied with lurching to become my preferred mode of travel. I'd swapped bags just before the start and left my own gel behind.
So, they were probably Angels rather than Ponies. My theological knowledge is sketchy, but, on reflection, that seems much more likely.
Three ponies spied at Windgather today. One in PINK
