Don't like to miss my daily post here even though i did no training today.
did 10 mile on the trails today sun was lovely & warm :D
Whernside and Ingleborough, it was magic up there today :)
Any easyish 15 miler today , before my long run of 30 miles next weekend. As Oates said, I may be some time!
Yesterday - 13 mile walk in South Craven including Pennine way stretch near Wolfstones Hill -saw one cheerful K&C runner:D and one miserable bleeder:(
Today am - 9 miles steady run in and around Pudsey/Tong valleys including Bankhouse Hill and Post Hill -felt good throughout.
pm - easy 6 mile walk around the reservoirs in Washburn Valley + 1 '99' ice cream (only small size) - saw plenty of 'Blubberhouses 25' runners & walkers .
Am delighted to report winning the Silver medal in the Northwest duathlon Championships. I thought a medal was an outside possibility but with a decent first run, steady bike section and a strong final run where i went from 4th to 2nd, things just seemed to go right for me today. Less than a minute behind the winner but I was never gonna beat him as he is a significantly better runner than I am.
Bankhouse is definitely still there - best pub garden in Leeds IMHO for its views across the valley - I've not been in for a while though but usually meet old next door neighbour from Kirkstall days up there as it has a decent beer choice these days - also used to go quite regularly for food with ex.
Currently living in New Farnley so get into Sykes Wood/Cockersdale first then up to Tong then down Keepers Lane (which was surprisingly dry this morning) before deciding on various options from the valley bottom - but usually straight up beside the golf course to Fulneck/Bankhouse.
5 x 2Km reps up hill then out again this afternoon ;)
