Thanks for that. I just caught up with one of them and they confirmed more or less what you said above. Sounds like an interesting day ..

Echoing some of the prev posts: thanks for a brilliant day out, organisation was fantastic! Thanks to hannah, marshals and catering team afterwards! Had a shocker today, with 'internal issues' followed by a nasty fall, never been this far back in the field! All good though, really enjoyed it, but will have to come back next years cos I didn't manage to see anything of course and area! Thanks again!
Not a lot to add to everyone else's comments. The course was runnable and the organisation was brilliant. Great to see loads of friends out and meet one or two new ones too
The run round the cricket pitch never gets any easier, especially when you think you have cunningly avoided it :closed:
Oh and thanks Manhar for the Jaffa Cakes :))
Interesting that a number of people comment they've never been as far back in a race .... I'll never be further back. :o
When I thawed out, I discovered that my falls had left me so battered and bruised, that if I lie down I'm unable to push myself up again.
But the challenge is part of the weird attraction, isn't it? To take up a theme from an earlier post, no-one expected or wanted a park run. If you run in exposed places on ice, you'll get cold and you'll probably fall over.
I really enjoyed today and glad it went ahead. I thought the start and finish were better than the original because of the reduction in road.
