Circuit session in the Gym, trying to mix things up a little
An absolute cracking 7miles/1200' run over Hameldon, golf balls, moors, between the reservoirs, golf course, Spire farm and Coppice. Felt good, the sun was shining, vest and shorts - loved it.
14.12 mile on the banks of the Mersey and St Helens Canal tonight along trail paths mostly after work. 8 mile of it with Tryfan and Sinatra. Glorious night for running and great setting for most of it.
A glorious 3.5 mile or so jog, early evening yesterday, in warm  sun; the woodpeckers were drumming, the lambs bouncing, the bunnies were hopping and the carrion birds were pecking at the sheep afterbirth and the gizzards of the odd dead rabbit. Spring has finally sprung in the Dales, if only for one day.
I ran out of Malham through the fields, following the beck leading to the wild garlic invested woods at Janet's Foss, up through Gordale Scar, climbing the waterfall at the end (a bit like Bear Grylls climbing out of a wadi but without the eating of any live frogs) before doubling back along the rim of the scar following a zig zag back to Malham.
Fantastic.
Compared to recent 'longer distance' posts, not sure I should be posting this.... :(

No training this day unless you count the train to and from Edinburgh, leaving home at 8 and just back at 8, this is what working in FancyLondon must be like for comuters I guess.
So a question to my virtual training buddies. The road running is going well and though I didn't enjoy the anni waltz it was a pb and an improvement on my previous % winnrs time. So mara is 3 weeks away and last long run a slow 25-30 tomorrow I think, but the question is about next week:
Do I run Stuc a Chroin, AL, 14 miles, 5000ft, one of my fav races, took me 3:38 last year. Lots of time on my feet 2 weeks before a mara but soft going?
Advice folks?
Jason
jason, i ran the Wilmslow half Two weeks before London and felt fine, but this is slightly longer and tougher, if you dont race it and really taper for the last two weeks i think it would be ok
Last long hilly road run today, 25miles at a minute over mara pace. Out and back route in even pace, with strong had wind on way back so feeling good that it was comfy, now winding down and thinking of Windermere (and Stuc?).
