I have been asked to run Leg 6 and there seems to be confusion between the above map/route description regarding the finish and what Halifax Harriers runner info says.
The above states that we go under the bridge at Salter Hebble lock, on the river and then cross the river into Heath Rugby Club (This I presume is the same crossing piont as the Bluebell Trail Race?) and finish in the grounds.
Also, Halifax Harriers website also gives the above as changes to leg 6 finish effective 2012.
However, on checking Halifax Harriers final runner instructions that says to go under the bridge, but then turn back out onto Stainland Road and then down the road and into Heath Rugby Club from the roadside.
Anyone able to clarify?

Well spotted, the advertised "Changes to leg 6 finish effective 2012" is totally different to "May 2012 Race Instructions". Both are currently on the Halifax Harriers web site.Quote:

On passing the garden centre, you will be directed into the rugby club where you should follow the tapes to finish in front of the club on the grass."
I would guess the latter document is correct, having been updated more recently. If that is the case, then in the last mile of leg 6, when you leave the canal, instead of running along the left bank of the River Calder, and having to turn right and cross the river to get into the finish, you instead run along the left side of Stainland Road, and turn left into the finish. (Heath Rugby Club is sandwiched between Stainland Road and the River Calder). I've updated the map on this assumption. I've also labelled the finish (and grid reference) as Heath Rugby Club (rather than West Vale Park, which is where leg 1 starts on the other side of Stainland Road).
What Pike has surmised is what I understand to be the case too, from the Marshalling instructions I was given.
Stainland Road rather than river bank. I will confirm this tomorrow.
Next year there will be a new website and I will ensure that there is no ambiguity.
I can confirm that the route to the finish is via Stainland Road and NOT via the river. Apparently a notice went out to all teams with this instruction.
I look forward to seeing you all there at the start and the finish. I shall have my camera at the ready. Anyone who wants a particular "side" photographing, let me know.

Well done Fstein and the other Heptonstall Hurriers - good running again from the Pub Team outsiders!!!
Thanks to the organisers and marshalls for a great day.
Alfa Scud and the Trawden pair just sneaked past the Hurriers on Leg 2 (despite their improvised route / additional loop of Tod) - still I think we managed to take around 10 scalps for Heptonstall
