Steady 6 mile on Pex Hills trail paths tonight
3hree mile race tonight, Davinas dash.........................felt tired after Radcliffe 10k yesterday...........some people can run races back-to-back but I've always struggled on the 2nd one. Did the Rochdale 3hree day one year and blew up totaly on the third day (Knowl hill fell).
Last night - one of the DP Monday night runs. "Washington Wasp", 4 1/2miles, 300m. Nice little stretch after PPP on Sat. Quite chipper at 46mins.
4.5mile 850 ft local race, I seemed to fly round last night compared to two days earlier. Running is so frustrating, same race as Jodg good to have him join in the fun
About a 3.5 loosener upperer around the hills last night - enjoyed it at the time but my calves this morning are knifed with pain carried over from the 3P. They felt great on Sunday, okay yesterday and painful today
They're stolly's calves actually, not Dom's achilles .
Yeah I think getting injured at Edale slightly cocked up my preparation for the 3 peaks - I don't think it necessarily effected my time but just increased the damage. Mind you it was my quads last week after the AW and they're completely fine this week.
Day behind with my training, yesterday's training 36 miles on road bike over into lancashire round Hollingworth lake area, wet, wet, wet. Today, sod all, knackered after first night at work and planning to do two races in two days at weekend. Watching all them brave souls at the 3 peaks has inspired me to beast myself, i salute you all:cool:
fast-ish pace run around Ladybowyer 1.24 for the 11 miles. 7.4 minute miles?
cool and fresh
Hill race tommorrow.
Easy 5 on road and trail, starting in a thunder storm and finishing in bright sunshine. I love this country
Still not feeling fresh but getting better every day. Its surprising how much a road 25 takes out of me compared to the same distance on the fells.
Jason
Some upper body weights and a four mile on the flat. Legs feel fine after the weekend so back out in the hills tomorrow.
1.7 miles. Hardly worth putting bloody kit on for! :(
Its a start Dom, I'm testing my new orthotics tommorow so will just be doing 1 mile on Grass
Total 11 miles around longridge fell and tracks around stoneyhurst college. 3.5 miles done just before 7.5 mile club run:D
easy 4 this morning, that felt the best yet this week, so hopefully all will be well on the club hill run this evening. Lets hope there's no thunder and lightning today.
Jason
A short 3.6 mile at 6am this morning up and around Pex Hill. First early morning run in ages.
A short 4 miles by by the canal in Dukinfield/Hyde
Had intended to do 12 miles on the Cleveland Way today. Got up this morning and found my shoes still on the doorstep drying out from the weekend. It rained last night so they were filled with 2 inches of water!
Plan B... gym tonight!
12 miles on the Cleveland Way today
Which part ?
MG you're annoying me now, contemplating (if not actually doing ;)) a 12 mile run. My calves are still tender from Saturday and, although I'm set to run something like 7 miles in the hills tonight, I've got a feeling that I'm not going to enjoy it one bit.
Ah Stolly you'll be fine, I'm sure it will loosen the calves up nicely! :( :D
I did a 4 mile last night and my legs felt fine. The tendons around my ankles are still a bit sore though. I've just entered 5 races so I think I'm getting the bug! Ooh I love pain me! Perhaps shouldn't say things like that on here... will conjure up all sorts of images
An hour on the road, fear I may have strained me teabags doing some lifting though 'cause it a bit painfull striding out.
I live and train on the section of the Cleveland Way on the cliffs at Hummersea and Boulby.
I also train over the Guisbrough moors on a weekend.
While we are mentioning the Cleveland way ,in the summmer ,local running clubs race the whole of the route on a relay basis.
My section last year was from "Slapwath via Rosebery to Gribdale.
A quick 30mins on roads. Feel fine after Sat! Looking forward to Ravenstones.
Ok so I'm soft! :(
nice evening club run in strong wind but lucky with the rain.
6.5 miles on the Campsies, not sure about the climb, will look at the map later but I took the direct steep climb each time to work those climbing muscles. Felt the best this week. :D
Jason
(ooh just checked climb and it was around 2000 ft so chuffed with that!)
Second run of the day a steady 4.36 mile on the treadmill in 30 mins whilst in the gym with the students this afternoon.
Dark Peak Cakes of Bread race 4.7 miles and 1,600ft. 56 minutes
Last night - 55 mins c6 miles club run on Chevin - first time at club since last May!! Got there late-ish, didn't warm up, got slight calf muscle (soleus) pull at furthest point away from car park:(. Hopefully a few days RICE (well apart form bike commute today) will do the trick but looks like my planned run in Teesdale won't happen:(
Ok so I skived out of hills because my shoes were wet and muddy and the rain was torrential and I was a big soft girl and went to the gym instead. :o
7 miles is a very long way on a treadmill and much more taxing on the brain! :(
Oh by the way...the river crossing was a doddle...took my shoes off, carried them across the raging torrent, and then dried my hooves with my beard at the other side!
