I agree both poems are absolutely fabulous, thank you so much Hes :)

Never heard of Karmal Das before, but those poems are beautiful. Thanks for posting. :)
One of my very favourites is Robert Frost. My utter laziness orecludes searching 380 pages of posts to see if this has been put up before but here goes (for your reading pleasure):
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Oh poo I'm so slow - a haiku!
Oh poo I'm so slow
Slow on the uptake for sure.
Sorry Derby Tup!
:)
YHes: Yeah I like that one too. I used to use the last verse of "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" as my sig on a couple of forums. Might change it here too...

Hanneke is behind my passion for haiku Dick. She posted a few on this thread in the early days and I became hooked. I've written some in seconds but spent all day trying to complete a line or two that came to me early in the morning :)
crikey...you are quick, Dick! My last question is now out of date seeing as you've changed your signature thingy. I am still intrigued though.
Your question totally flumoxed me Hes. Guess it referred to Dick's previous signature about pineapple? :)

What 'ave we 'ere then?
I'll credit the poet when I can find the book! :)
FAO Hes:
"Whooooo lives in a pineapple under the sea?"
 We're flitting backwards and forwards at a hell of a lick this evening!

I WANTED TO GO TO THE PLACE/ WHERE THE HAPPY POEMS ARE
I wanted to go to the place
Where the Happy Poems are
To hear them within myself
To give them to others
To make Joy real for all of us
I wanted to give a little lift to the souls
Of anyone who would give a little time
To reading me.
I do have a happy soul sometimes
But it is not with me always
How much I have wished
To make others happy
And how long has it been
Since I truly succeeded?
